Mercenary for Justice Trailers

Mercenary John Seeger is one of the best in the business. John and his crew battle some soldiers on Galmoral Island in Southern Africa as they're trying to rescue the French Ambassador -- there's a coup going on. Some of John's soldiers unload their machine guns into the Ambassador and his family, blowing the mission and getting his best friend Radio Jones killed. He heads back to the US and visits Radio's wife Shondra to tells her the news, and then promises that he'll take care of her and her son Eddie. But shortly after he makes that vow, Shondra and Eddie get kidnapped.

Nonureva Really Surprised!
Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Ginger Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
callanvass Mercenary for Justice was a somewhat pleasant surprise as far as his DTV efforts go. Don't get me wrong, you can detect his laziness, it has its dull spots like many of his DTV films. But the important thing here is he's INTERESTED!. The opening is one of the best things about this movie. Seagal deserves credit for trying to show genuine emotion, he actually choked up a bit. The problem with Mercenary is the story is all over the place. While Seagal's effort is amiable, the script sure isn't. Half the things that go on happen without reason. Die-Hard fans will be pleased to know Seagal does a lot of his own hand-to hand fights here. The scrap with a henchman in a restaurant washroom was especially impressive, and was vintage Seagal. The villains are unfortunately cardboard cutouts, meaning they don't have any real depth to them. But, hey, it beats most of Seagal's efforts, and as a loyal fan of his, I'll gladly take that over the usual crap he produces these days.Performances. Steven Seagal is actually semi-decent here. Nowhere near his best, but he clearly cares somewhat. There's emotion and passion in his character, and he seemed to like this project more than most. His fighting was actually not bad, and I dug his character background. Only problem I had was his ego. Decorated Gulf war veteran?. Jacqueline Lord is beautiful, but that's about it.Bottom line. You may think I'm saying this is a good movie, due to the considerable amount of praise I have given it. Well sorry to disappoint you, but it's far from that. I'm simply saying I appreciated the effort involved, and it's better than most of his projects. Worth a cheap rental if you can find it in your video store.4 1/2 /10
frannas85 Blah blah kills someone he likes out for revenge something or another...the usual seagal movie. Anyway here's the thing about the movie i find unforgivable. In one of the final scenes John seeger(was this so the Japanese would pronounce it seegel?) goes to such ridiculous lengths to break into some high security bank to get to apparently an atm in the middle of the business to print out a freakin bank statement. However to get this far he had to kill like every police officer in town and their brother. Cops are good guys right? Especially when they're just trying to do their duty. And yet when he meets up with one of the head honchos for the umpteenth time in the bank he hands him the statement and says you're going to jail. Knocks him unconscious and f@%+in leaves! Oh and to get to the bad guy and leave he had to kill more guys. I couldn't finish the movie. Seegal is not a bad ass in this movie he's a bad guy. There's no happy ending here. No justice and victory of good over evil, something i've always appreciated and looked forward to in these kinds of movies no matter how bad the rest of it was. Reminds me of devil's rejects.
Elwood_Blues What in God's name has happened to Steven Seagal? Sure, his movies were never... the intellectual type but this film is so bad he should be ashamed to have done it. The action is boring, the story/script is a joke (where did the blonde from the beginning go? Where did Bulldog come from?), the characters are flawed (ie. John and Maxine kill everybody in the bank but when some guy asks not to shoot him John just punches him in the balls?!?) and the acting from the supporting cast is on porn-level. And that so called high security prison with it's 20 guards? It looked like it would cave in after the next storm. After this Steve should really consider to either stop acting or wait for a decent script to come along...
Macgyver19882000 In Mercenary For Justice Steven Seagal is turning away from his recent Direct-To-DVD releases and opening with a great 'war' scene one that comes close to "Saving Private Ryan". Steven also his hearing his fan base and decided to do his own fights scenes, also at the end he gets back to his 'movie' roots when he goes after the man who set him up in the beginning. The way does it reminds me of his movies "Hard to Kill" and "Out For Justice". Steven is making an honest effort to improve and the way he acts in his movies. If he continues he will reach the stardom he had in the early 1990's and maybe in the future he will go beyond in his stardom we just have to keep him informed so that he may continue to improve.
