amesmonde The First season followed the beats of the film, encapsulates some of its Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino DNA. Seth (D.J. Cotrona), Richie (Zane Holtz) and Santanico (Eiza González) are solid throughout.The second season no longer chained to the narrative of the film goes into fresh uncharted territory expanding the mythology, the practical effects are great but some of the CGI falls short. The third season is a bit of a letdown, while it includes some cult actors and past characters, it further expands the folklore, but has become a 'monster week'cheap thrill. And although the effects are well done they are poorly lit leaving feeling very cheap looking and Buffy like. Overall entertaining but loosing it's steam with each passing episode. The story keeps it intriguing but the execution appears to have lost it's way which is a shame as everyone appears to be giving 100%.

saalex-43922 I really liked the first season. The characters, plot, mythology, everything seemed pretty well written and well thought out. I was looking forward to season two....Season two started alright, but then as the season progressed, the storyline became moronic. By the end of season two I felt like I had been robbed. The characters were acting out of character (Carlos letting enemies walk away at the well, Ranger Gonzales standing around holding his gun in Jackknife Jeds while the customers were becoming the main course, and the list goes on and on) there were times when you could not figure out a characters action, or inaction at all.My rating is giving the first season an 8, the first six episodes of season 2 a 7, and the last episodes of season 2 a 1. Instead of hiring Demi Lovato, They should have hired a writer or two.Edit: In looking at the other reviews for the show, I noticed that a lot of the good reviews came before Season 2, that makes sense.

CultInferno Upon the release of "From Dusk Till Dawn" in 1996, it spawned 2 sequels. As in most cases the first entry was the best. In fact I loved everything about the first film. From the story to the characters, to the actors portraying the characters, to the script. "From Dusk Till Dawn" was arguably a perfect film. When i heard of the TV series coming in 2014, I was more than excited to see where this will take me. Unfortunately, the series appeared on "El Rey", a new channel that was only on certain cable services. So I had to wait for the DVD. I was very surprised at what i saw. I've heard reviews of people not liking this series (A lot say its not true to the original movie.) But i beg to differ. What it does is it takes a great movie and expands on that concept making it a more creative and fun series. Yes, it differed from the movie. But in it's own right it is an amazing series. I don't think Robert Rodriquez would do anything to hurt his gem of a movie. I think the new cast was near perfectly picked out for the remake-series. As one Dusk fan to another, the bad reviews on here in my opinion, are very misleading. Please watch it for yourself and watch it with a open mind! The 1st season was recently on Netflix to stream. So if you have Netflix streaming, now is the time to use it. "The Gecko Brothers are back!'

martoni64 This isn't all awful. There are some scattered genuine acting talent among the rubble. True most of it isn't. Some of the cast is so horrible that my sons acting class (aged 7) would be able to replace the cast. Plot isn't logical, it mostly doesn't even pretend to be logical. Dialog is in part painfully awkward.That said; while all the above firmly places this in the B-series category, it's somewhat more coherent than your standard B-movie/series rubbish. If you like the idea of Mexican ancient snakevampirebeings and cults then this might give you some entertainment. It's all utterly forgettable, but fun for a brief moment.
