Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

Dante's Peek I haven't seen a single dumbest mainstream military operation which has been carried out in movies with steven seagal in it. Never want to know who the writer is. I mean everything goes wrong, literally everything. I can't believe they killed steven seagal half way through after all that macho BS in the beginning of the movie. That is quite a statement and the beginning of the end. Then the bomb expert falls over like little red riding hood and breaks his neck. Come on.. Of course the typical 90's C movie comical suspense scenes. They are all over the movie. I watched half way through and shut down everything because I couldn't bear it anymore. This movie will make Passenger 57 look like Oscar Nominee. Yep its that bad. don't trust the IMDB rating with the 6.4 stars. Anything above 6 should be decent to watch and I wouldn't bother writing here on how bad they are. This movie gave me an idea to write on IMDB so some people can save their precious time instead watching this. God bless us all.

Leofwine_draca I saw EXECUTIVE DECISION soon after its first release and remember being disappointed by the experience. I was a teenager back then and hoping for a ton of DIE HARD-on-a-plane style action, which I didn't get; even worse, the film was missold to me as a Steven Seagal movie, and the poor guy gets bumped off half an hour in. I wasn't impressed, and spent the rest of the film sulking.Watching it some twenty years later, time has been kind to this film. It's actually better for NOT being another DIE HARD clone; there's a ton of suspense inherent in the premise of the guys having to hide from the terrorists and stay hidden for much of the running time. Sure, the bomb plot is done to death and Oliver Platt isn't a great actor, but everything else works nicely, particularly the direction which maximises every drop of tension from the narrative. Stuart Baird is best known for his work as an editor but also did U.S. MARSHALS, which I loved as well.To say too much about this film's plot would be to spoil it, but it works nicely. Kurt Russell isn't bad as the hero but is outshone by almost everyone else, apart from the poor Halle Berry. David Suchet's villain is a scary one, but I liked the characters of the special forces team best. Joe Morton does injured very well again after TERMINATOR 2; John Leguizamo supplies attitude and a good tough guy demeanour; B.D. Wong has more screen time than JURASSIC PARK. Even J.T. Walsh is present in a minor role. The action, when it hits, is exciting stuff, and the film is only occasionally cheesy which is a surprise - it was the 1990s, after all.

What were we talking about?...... huh?...... executive decision? What's that?.... oh, the movie, yeah...... um..... well..... can we talk about something more interesting like what flavor pop tart I had this morning? It was Frosted Strawberry! Mmmmmm.......Do yourself a favor and pass on this sleep-aid film which has all the suspense of a turtle nibbling on a lettuce leaf.

edwagreen Most definitely a taut thriller and really appropriate due to the present world conditions regarding terrorism.This fascinating film deals with one terrorist who has his own ambitions and even when prodded by his superior, he defies everything. Attaching the commandos to the plane was something in itself.Other than the doomed U.S. Senator whose aboard the hijacked aircraft, the film doesn't delve in the personal lives of the affected passengers aboard. In other words, it's not a plane in trouble in the way that we saw 1954's The High and the Mighty.A wonderful cast keeps the tension growing, especially Halle Berry as the courageous stewardess and Kurt Russell.Just when you think that the terrorists have been thwarted, there is more excitement when the plane is crippled by dying terrorists shooting it up and that landing was memorable.
