TeenzTen An action-packed slog
Organnall Too much about the plot just didn't add up, the writing was bad, some of the scenes were cringey and awkward,
Twilightfa Watch something else. There are very few redeeming qualities to this film.
a_baron Vampires may be the living dead, but if you can sit through this one without taking at least three or four breaks you're not living dead, you're brain dead. The theme is far from new: age old vampire seeks his reincarnated virgin. How he becomes a vampire in the first place is silly, then we jump forward a couple of hundred years or so, and we are on a college campus where leading man and bad guy Martin Kemp is pursuing the virginal Alyssa Milano. Kemp is still best known for being one quarter of new romantics Spandau Ballet. He is also not a bad actor, but even Tom Hanks, Marlon Brando, Laurence Olivier and Al Pacino melded together couldn't pull this one off. Rubbish plot and script aside, this is a film that starts off with some pretence to Gothic horror, then decides it wants to become lesbian porn, then simply porn, and finally degenerates into farce as the campus virgin smokes her first cigarette, when suddenly she is not so sweet and pure. There is nothing wrong with using dream or nightmare sequences in a film, but there are ways to indicate this. If a character who has been murdered appears in a later scene, is this person now a vampire, or did the dastardly deed take place only in the damsel's head? That is assuming she was even in that scene. Confused? Who wouldn't be!This has been called a B Movie; in truth there are not enough letters in even the Tamil alphabet to rate this garbage, and it is not so much the embrace of the vampire as his kiss of death.
ajit A Vampire on a mission to get Milano. Writers have successfully(shamelessly) covered every sex game in the movie viz. lesbian, group, watching, threesome. Sex in dreams is theme of movie. *****************Spoiler*************************Death of vampire is really surprising as he simply dies. I mean he just dies without struggle, and his amazing acting gives a feeling that he has achieved nirvana. !!! Come on he got her in front of her lover and her lesbian lover... be it in dreams, still thats what his mission was. He(vampire) kills some girl by banging her head on door. And guess what he licks blood on the door ignoring 10 - 15 liters of blood in the body. Makers didn't had no time for dying vampire it was wrapped very fast and end is very disappointing. I was expecting some more milano. May be a group of some 3-4 vampires would have made it more exciting
sam-519 I saw this since I had been looking for some more decent vampire movies and this had been recommended to me as having a good story and being erotic. Neither could be further from the truth.I had no previous knowledge of Alyssa Milano and I don't think I'll have much more after this. Her role as the coy, sheltered convent girl coming of age in a college after the forced desires of her otherwordly vampire lover is hackneyed and boring. It could have been good if it had been at all done well but every part is played with such flatness and lack of conviction that it's embarrassing. And then you have the vampire himself, Martin Kemp - from EastBenders and Spandau Ballet fame... the combination is just too cringeworthy for me to recall. As for the erotic moments, well, Alyssa does get some of her kit off and then the focus goes soft, the music starts and the whole thing is about as sexy as watching Carry On Camping slowed down. Just when things start to get slightly steamy, such as the only mildly erotic moment between her and a female photographer, the scene ends and we have another long shot of the college the next day. The most laughable bit is the 'orgy' at the end when most of the girls and guys are still clothed, Alyssa does a bit of ogling, bites her lip for the thousandth time and leaves. All in all, if you're looking for an erotic vampire film or a vampire film of any decent sorts - avoid this one. It's 'late night Dawsons Creek' style of photography and insipid story - not to mention emotional content - makes it a thorough waste of 90 minutes. If you want a really quality vampire film watch Valerie And Her Week Of Wonders or Daughters Of Darkness, but steer clear of this tripe.
nikkimail Um... Did anyone else find Martin Kemp's performance as a vampire weak and scary in a bad way?? I'm not talking about jumping out of my seat with horror scary either. I wanted to laugh actually and I'm pretty sure some others did too. I'm so used to seeing Martin Kemp playing Steve in Eastenders that I practically fell off my chair with laughter when I saw that he was 'Vampified'.Also, does anyone know where I can get a song from the film from? I liked a song called 'One Desire' by Claudia Kaleem and I can't seem to find it. Not to mention that she seems non-existent! Her voice is quite beautiful and the lyrics grabbed my attention from the first moment I heard them. i am quite anxious to find the song, even if I have to buy the soundtrack to the film or even the film itself! Please help me! I am not putting the film down or anything because if you look really hard at the actual film, you can see a quite romantic storyline but it needs quite a bit of work.
