Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
Yash Wade
Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

This is the worst movie I've seen this year. I didn't like the conjuring but at least they had a bit of professionalism. There's little to really say. It's not only a generic horror movie, it is awkwardly written and has absolutely no sense of mystery or atmosphere. All the cards are on the table very quickly. There is some subplot of the characters dealing with their verbally abusive, alcoholic ex pop star mother that adds nothing. It could be taken out so easily and so feels like fanfiction. No Character has any personality. The protagonist is just some cliché vulnerable girl-woman who breaks down very easily. Her sister just looks down her nose at everyone. the mother is insufferable...don't make me relive it....and then there are some cops that are useless and have less depth than the ones on GTF.There are countless little points you could make fun of or criticize (she actually says out loud that the apartment is "spooky". NEVER use that word in a horror movie!).It's not so bad it's good, just resist your curiosity until yourmoviesucks or someone does a commentary.I wish I could give it a 0 because I seriously believe # the people who write amateur creppypastas could write a better movie/

This is not the worst movie I've seen, but it's in the race. You can't tell a horror story revealing all sinister facts from the beginning. Rebecca De Mornay is overacted. I know she's not the best actress, but in Mother's Day she was very good. The music and lights are OK and help to the scary whole thing. I believe that the main problem is on directing and editing. The performances are not so bad, and with a proper edition work, may be a better movie. There are two good things in the movie: the Apartment's view and Corey Sevier's body. This is a movie that I know that I will remember, and maybe could see it again. I'm a big horror movies fan and sometimes when you give a second chance, with proper environment (low lights, a rainy day), a movie could be better than the first time.

I'm so confused to as why Mischa Barton is an actress. She was stilted and awkward. The girl that played her sister was just as terrible. Rebecca De Mornay was off as well (spoiler: her death scene was dumb). Corey Sevier wasn't bad in comparison to the rest, but it doesn't help that he's pretty good looking in my opinion. The little girl was creepy only because little girls are creepy. Another problem I had with the film was the super. He was definitely pervey. But why didn't Janet or Lara call the building owner or cops to complain? It wasn't scary at all which was probably the biggest disappointment. I think I could handle the bad acting if I had actually been scared.

Okay, about five minutes in I knew I was in trouble. The sets for a start - there was only two of them. It was like I was watching a theatre play that had been transferred to the big screen. There are only three primary actresses (not counting the man who looks like George Michael without a wrecked car around him) and they mainly just bicker. The youngest daughter of the family moves into an apartment. It's blatantly haunted. So, instead of running for the hills at the first opportunity (like 99.9% of us would), she just wanders around talking to herself, getting more and more freaked out. This might not be so bad if there were some decent scares, but everything is predictable and there are no special effects (or at least not ones that weren't completely laughable). The ghost feels like it was last spotted in The Ring and the whole thing is just a mess.Rebecca De Mornay does her best to save the picture, but one half-decent performance can't make up for the rest of the dull, woeful attempt at a film. It's based on (yet another) Japanese horror film. I can only hope the original is better than Hollywood's version. Its only real plus: it's quite short. Avoid.
