Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Married Baby Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
Jemima It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
k.hero Even for a German comedy this is incredibly bad. The film is cheaply made, absolutely not funny, filled with childish jokes. Usually at least the German actors hold their own against terrible scripts. But even that is not the case here.
uniratgeber First of all the movie deals with god and his potential successor. This movie is not a typical German comedy. It is more like a comic and i would compare it with the movies by Kevin Smith. It is a production of the "Wueste Filmproduktion", the guys who also made the movies by Fatih Akim which were no doubt great films. You don't have to take "Ein Goettlicher Job" seriously, then you have a lot of fun with it. The actors are the German elite especially Oliver Korittke did a very good job. Conclusion: Don't listen to the critics...
