    TinsHeadline Touches You
    Steineded How sad is this?
Jenna Walter The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
bigfootpat I had to get used to the show for the first three episodes, but then it started to be one of the funniest shows I've ever seen! There are certainly ups and downs, but Metalocalypse never fails to amuse. A very brutal show in both the literal and figurative sense, lot's of gore and death, but also a nice satire on the metal culture. There's a lot of death metal music in the series and I personally love that, I don't know any other shows that focus on metal. As a metal artist myself I enjoyed it intensely, but I'm not sure either non-musicians and/or non-metal-fans would appreciate it. I would certainly recommend it!
nnnoooiiissseee Around the age of 8 or 9 years old, something funny happened. I would sit in front of cartoons like Anamaniacs or Tiny Toon adventures and... I just couldn't watch them anymore. I started changing the channel to adult shows or I'd get up and find something else to do. I grew into an adult and my mind simply started to tune out the pointless children's cartoons. That being said. There's an "animated series" and there's a "children's cartoon". Both are animated with voice acting but the two are completely different."Cartoons" are one dimensional with nothing but fast paced filler to keep the kiddies entertained. There really isn't any "plot" to speak of, just lots of simple humor, pointless stunts and wacky gags crammed into a small time slot to keep the kids from wandering off.An "Animated series" is the same as any other T.V. show, only it's animated. It's on the intellectual level of an adult. There's a plot, adult situations, action, drama, emotion, humor, suspense etc. It's multifaceted and explores different levels.Metalocalypse is a child's cartoon. Plain and simple. There's just nothing there. The reason the "uncensored DVD" is still being censored is because it's something designed for children to watch... at least mentally. There just isn't anything in this show on any kind of adult level. It's pointless. The "humor" and format are the same you will see in any zippy kids cartoon. Voice acting is terrible. Running gags just aren't there to begin with... let alone something to keep bringing back. Every facet is one dimensional and shouldn't be viewed by anyone with an IQ over 75 or so.Now... I love metal and always have. From grind-core and death metal to crossover thrash, classic hardcore and everything in between. I've always been a long-haired head-banger and my closet is filled with nothing but metal tees... all of which are worn on a daily. I guess maybe that's why this "show" is such a mega disappointment. I guess they figured that anyone who loves heavy metal has the mindset of a child and is mildly retarded. They thought wrong. As much as I've tried to like this cartoon, I just can't. I'm too old for cartoons I guess. I'm an adult -- not a child. It's not for me.
ahouser-541-321352 OK, I registered with IMDb solely to offer this critic and this is my very first review on IMDb, which and I must say I was inspired to write because of the few negative comments it has received. Normally, I would understand a few negative reviews about a TV show because we all have a different perspective in life and inevitably someone is just not going to like a particular series, but Metalocalypse deserves the highest of ratings! It is ground breaking and original and I was hooked from the very first traumatic viewing of this brutal kidney punch. Of the things that impress me most is Brendon Small's ability to go from the cute and cuddly (and hilarious) Home Movies to Metalocalypse without skipping a beat, pun intended, and pull off one of the most intense, morbid, creative and funny cartoons in Adult Swims' history. This show is for anybody who loves metal and for anybody who hates metal and everyone in-be-teen. The characters have been developed nicely with devotion to back story and that f*@king clown is a nose bleed! G-G-G-G-yaaahh! To the point of this review, if you do not like this show, you are either an up tight republican (see General Crozier) or an imagination invalid who takes themselves and or their music way to seriously. Come on folks, Death Metal is at it's base nihalistic and there is nothing funnier than the destrucion of reality (with the right twist). Dethklok is in all of us and if we can't laugh at ourselves then, well, we will just have to laugh at you! Grow a sense of humor. Love the show guys!! Lets see season 3.
thewitchkingofangmar-1 This is a great parody which combines excellent music, with "brutal" Metal parody both regarding their love of mayhem and their self-absorbed arrogance. The "black humor" is hilarious, as well as the "Apocalype of metal" involving the satire of American consumerism and "Illuminati shadow government" conspiracy-theory angle.I gave this 9 stars instead of 10, because the series seems to have forgotten its roots in humor, and seems to have become a bit self-indulgent by taking itself somewhat seriously-- particularly with the character "Ofdensen" and his being somewhat of a stuck-up "Gary Stu" character in relation to the parodized band-members; one can only hope that this is explained later in the series as his actually being a "nerd-villain," rather than just a series-conceit and self-indulgence of writers (which always spells a series going downhill after a little bit if initial success goes to their heads).
