SoftInloveRox Horrible, fascist and poorly acted
Brennan Camacho Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
Fulke Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
Haven Kaycee It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
jacobdyoung Well... i see some people don't like this show - But I do! I've noticed the animation has changed over the years. This is a good teenage show about a hero (teenager who turns into a dragon). I find it entertaining... The show has its giggles and laughs and it can teach some lessons about life. For example, growing up and competitions. I like this show :). I was reading some of the other comments here, like the one on the actual webpage for this title. I agree with the reference to the older shows, and the television is coming out with shows that (for lack of better terms) suck. But, this particular show, I like. Go Disney!. I hope it stays on family channel and the Disney channel.
white-37 This show has got to be one of the best. It's brighter and more real then DP (which is also a pretty good show),is more modern then Avatar (good show) and carries a supenseful main property to it:The Jake and Rose relationship. Two young people who are born and raised to be enemies (though Rose more so then Jake),somehow find themselves falling for one another in their normal idenities. When they finally find out about each other, each has a different reaction and even though it all seems impossible, they manage to forge an alliance to stop the Huntsman from wiping out all magical creatures, overcome all those who oppose their relationship and still care deeply for one another. They both make mistakes and are very much endanger from being with one another if they are not putting on a fighting act.It will all culminate in the final episode Hong Kong Longs, after both make great sacrifices in Homecoming. If you haven't kept up with these two, then by all means you need to.There is nothing filled with more angst, love and action that you'll find anywhere else.Especially in a cartoon series.
Roxanne Boheme I love this show! Disney Channel is all well and good, but it's family shows about a sixteen-year old, terrible animated flicks that I'm embarrassed to watch, and not much else. ADJL rocks! Sure, it's got silly jokes, stereotypes, and too much fake slang, but what show doesn't have at least one of those? I'm just grateful that this show is still there, after the short-lived W.I.T.C.H. that I adored. The plot is about a teenage Asian-American boy in NYC who can turn into a Dragon. He is taught about his powers by wise old grandpa – also a dragon – and Fu-Dog, a 6,000 year-old talking dog who whips up potions and bad puns. Jake battles evil monsters and fights the 'Huntsclan,' a group of secret ninja-type people with cool staffs that spew green energy stuff and hunt magical creatures. The Huntsgirl, the Huntsmaster's assistant, Jake's arch nemesis who wants to slay him and become a full-blown Huntsclan member, is actually Rose, the pretty girl at school who Jake has a crush on. Rose/Huntsgirl has a dragon birthmark/tattoo on her hand whose tail winds around her arm, which I think is really cool. I knew that Rose was the Huntsgirl even before I saw the first episode, as I go to Disney Channel.com and check out the video clips and pictures. How many blonds with blue eyes with similar voices are hanging around? If they weren't the same person, the animators would have given them different hair or something. The fact that Jake didn't realize that is just weird, but it's a TV show. At the end of the first season, Jake and Rose have discovered the other's secret identity, and Rose disappears, much to Jake's sorrow. Second season, which just started, picks up a few months after season 1 ended, and there's new animation. I have mixed feelings about the new animation: change is good, and I like how Jake changes into an Asian dragon instead of a European dragon, like before, but the Oracle twins are now fraternal: Sarah is in a is blond in a pink dress and Carra has black hair and is goth, while before they were both red-heads who looked similar. The huge change, in my book, is the Huntsclan uniforms. Before they were dark-green and black armor things that blended into the shadows, but now they're black and maroon things with a red spider symbol on the masks, which makes them stand out. They look stupid and weird. The staff-weapon things with the green energy stuff are more advanced but not so ancient looking. They're more like tridents with some intricate carvings, not so good. I know, I know, I love the Huntsclan too much, but I'm the kind of person who loves Slytherin. All in all, I love this TV show. Sure it has its faults, but it's as close to perfect as you can get with the idea and Disney. Magic and the real world is a great element, and to have it on Disney is wonderful for a fantasy geek like me. Hey, I play D&D, so ADJL is big. Watch it, and see what you think.
Meekalahh OK can you say Disney's version of Danny Phantom? This is just like Danny phantom. I like most shows on Disney but this one YUCK. It is just like Danny phantom. LIKE: 1. He has 2 good friends 2. not a lot of people know about this dragon thing 3. Danny just got revealed Jake is just about to. has anyone else noticed this? It's like Disney just doesn't know any other shows so they copy. Just like a few years ago. Nick had Doug then Disney went and did Doug as well. Yoou might like this show but i think it's just like Danny Phantom. The only different i know is Danny is a ghost and Jake is a Dragon. Please tell me if i'm wrong. If you like Jake then you will like Danny.
