Reviews
SmugKitZine Tied for the best movie I have ever seen
Phonearl Good start, but then it gets ruined
Orla Zuniga It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review
Roy Hart If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
harish-murali001 Reached expectations? Not at all. IF you expected comedy and masala, you guessed right. Movie would have been nice if it released in the 80s. Direction: 7/10 A classical direction. Half the shots you just like, you have got to be kidding me, it's that cheap. Half of the shots had no effort into it. The other half however were nice like the train action scene was the best in the whole movie. Mainly the action scenes had effort. The rest had none. Nothing special added. Screenplay: 7/10 Movie was fast paced at first and had nice comedy. 2nd half it could get boring for a few. Some people didn't mind. The movie did have decent screen writing and etc. But nothing special.Editing: 7/10. Nice editing. Some parts it was cheap and annoying. But overall it was decent.Story: 4/10 Nothing new, another stupid 80s story added in. It was cheap, nothing new, and sometimes annoying.Acting: 7/10 Decent acting. Sometimes the characters were over exaggerated. Ajith did an excellent job. Santhanam did too. Villains were OK and the rest did decent.Music: 6.5/10 Background music was not bad. It was nice and enjoyable. Theme music was nice too. The songs were OK. Some were horrible and some were decent. Verdict: Movie was OK and could have been way better. 6.4/10
ratheesh-sahayaraj After Long Time Thala Ajith does a Full fledged Rural Mass Masala Film and it does help him big time.Ajith as Vinayagam rules the screen with his new body mannerisms and slang and proves that he can rock in comedy scenes as well.Mass Scenes have come out very well for Ajith and he carries off the film with his screen presence. He gets chance to perform in romance scenes also after long time.Tamannah gets a good role after long time in this film after doing some crazy minded character as in Siruthai. Not even a single moment does she irritate u.Her Love scenes with Ajith are a major highlight in the movie.Santhanam keeps u entertained with his comic one-liners and keeps the pace of the movie interesting.Vidharth,Suhail,Munish and Bala who play the role of Ajith's brother's have done a neat job.The Presence of Nasser,Appukutty,Thambi Ramaiah is also a big plus.Pradeep Rawat and Atul Kulkarni even though with limited screen space have done justice to their roles.Director Siva keeps u entertained with a simple storyline with his powerful screenplay and Bharathan's dialogs make the scenes more fiery.Intro Song and Theme Music by Devi Sri Prasad are rocking even though other 3 songs are poorly composed.DSP's Background score is rocking and elevate many scenes especially climax fight.Cinematography by Vetri is awesome and Edit by kasi viswanathan is what one needs for a mass mas ala movie.Stunts by Silva are rocking especially the train fight sequence.Overall a Pongal Treat by Ajith for his fans and others.
Sudhakar Parthasarathy Veeram - A perfect blend of mass action, comedy, romance and sentiment. Director Siva has read audience pulse perfectly. I feel it has the best ever introduction scene for Ajith when compare to his other films which justifies his nick name "Thala". This movie fully revolves around Ajith and I doubt if any other hero can create this much impact for this character.Pros: 1. Ajith's action is phenomenal. To mention a few his Introducton, tender auction scene, train fight sequence, festival fight, the climax flight . 2. Comedy from actor Santhanam which made me laugh at last. Some quality comedy from him after many crap movies. But still if he should have reduced those few double meaning comedies it would have been more quality.3. DSP's BGM which is a big support in many scenes. It is his BGM which makes us feel the real mass of Ajith in many scenes.4. Cinematography is pretty awesome. A full 100 marks for the cinematographer. I loved his introduction scene and auction scene camera work.5. No overacting Tamannah which I feel is another plus for the movie.Cons: 1. Songs not that catchy as everyone already expected. Very poor choreography for couple of duet songs. The worst is Thangamae Thangamae song followed by Kannum Kannum song. Producer's money wasted in foreign location. But still the Intro song and the festival song is watchable.2.Actor Thambi ramaiah. Felt a little Irritating acting. Just remembered this character suits aptly for a comedian like Vadivelu. 3.Ajith's second half shaved getup takes little time to accept. Not seen him like that for many years. Was surprised and happy to see late actor Abdullah (a) periyar dasan in this last movie. All together Veeram a perfect mass entertainer which satisfies not only Ajith fans but all kind of audience. And now we can expect Income Tax ride in producer's house. My Verdict : Veeram a 8 star rated movie which can be watched in theaters multiple times for that one introduction scene of the Great Thala Ajith.
praveenraghav1989 This movie is out and out hero centric, commercial cinema elements packed, wholesome entertainment providing movie and if you are a die-hard Ajith Fan , you will enjoy the movie thoroughly. the movie is completely shouldered by Ajith and his mass appeal from start to end and this also is the savior of the movie. The let downs in the movie are villains whose characterization does not seem to bad and brutal, the supporting cast members who play Ajith's brothers do not have much to do rather than playing Ajith's so called sidekicks in some scenes. The comedy scenes involving Thambi Rammaih in the second half were like irritating stuff but it somehow managed to make the crowd laugh.DSP can change his name to DRUMS Sri Prasad, since other than using drums he has not used any other musical stuff.Overall its a Ajith Show all the way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IMO ,Ajith's best in the last 4 years was Venkat Prabhu's MANKATHA.
