If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

This film contains some of the most beautiful cinematography you will ever see. It is a deep exploration into the nature of a human's will to survive, as well as the need for vengeance.
Leonardo Dicaprio rightly won the oscar for best actor.
The set, as well as the props & costumes are exemplary, & completely believable; in particular the portrayal of Fort Kiowa. Must Watch

Very good, but the film would have been just as powerful reducing scenery screen time...even a few seconds most times would have made the movie even more watchable.

I can see why it went to streaming sites so quickly. In my humble opinion, the only reason why it made some money, is because many people were hyped (conned) into going to see it.Frankly, The Revenant looked to me more like a poor imitation of Jeremiah Johnson. Most of the movie is slow, and really drab. Most of the time I acually felt like I was watching a movie shot in black and white, there is that little color in it...If they wanted to do a survivalist movie, they should have cast a survivalist...

KILL ME- hugely boring, the stupidest piece of "filmography" EVER- if you hate someone and want to punish them by wasting a beautiful day of their lives - make them watch this epically boring piece of hogswattle......ugh- just be aware that they will never hang out with you again ! hahahahaha!!!!!
