Smiley Face Trailers

Jane, a struggling but perpetually stoned actress, has a busy day ahead. She has several important tasks on her list, including buying more marijuana. Even though she already has a good start on the day's planned drug use, she eats her roommate's pot-laced cupcakes and embarks on a series of misadventures all over Los Angeles.

Diagonaldi Very well executed
CommentsXp Best movie ever!
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Twilightfa Watch something else. There are very few redeeming qualities to this film.
chriskirk_filmmaker This film is not remotely funny. The main character is really stoned, she acts like a complete moron (and I mean complete) and she ruins everything she touches. It certainly deglamorizes cannabis use, while at the same time relishing in it. The only problem with the film, and it is a major problem, an overwhelming one even, is that there is nothing about it that it is funny. There are no jokes, there is no wit, nothing amusing or surprising happens; she's just really really stoned and stupid. That's it. I guess you can consider that a spoiler.I only watched this cos Gregg Araki's early films are wonderful obscene punk queer anomalies. I had faith in him. He let me down. He let us all down.
Hey You Guys I really can't believe how low the rating is for this film. It's a fantastic portrayal of a hapless stoner with plenty of laugh out loud moments.I can only assume that the majority of viewers have not smoked before and hence struggle to get it.All credit to Anna Faris that has to be one of the best portrayals of a stoner i have seen. The facial expressions along with the drawn out thought process it was pretty much perfect.Highly recommend this to anyone who has or does enjoy the casual smoke as you'll find yourself laughing at and quite possibly relating to the character in a that's so true kind of way. It's a different and refreshing take on the typical stoner movie and in time i can see this film gaining a cult following.
swankysexii I love this movie for so many reasons. But there are also a lot of fault.#1- I love a good stoner movie. In addition, I love that its a GIRLS stoner movie! (I mean how many of those are there?!)#2- Anna Faris? Who knew? I always thought she was a really good actress but now I just have so much more respect for her as an actress. And she plays the role sooo unbelievably well! The negatives are pretty big unfortunately. The beginning 30-40 mins of this movie are perfection. Then for some reason it heads towards a downwards slope. In fact, it starts getting so bad that I totally lose interest & can't even finish the movie! When the beginning of a movie is so good, you kind of expect the middle and end to be equally as good but they lose me once they introduce this random Brevin character.I've watched the beginning of this movie dozens of times and always stop watching after the audition. But i'd love to find another movie like this one.
Desiree My, oh, my. What can I say about Smiley Face? I don't quite know what to say about it. Sometimes I chuckled, I laughed out loud once or twice, sometimes I looked at the screen with a questioning face, not knowing what to think. Most of the time I looked at the screen not knowing what to think or what kind of face to make.I am not really sure why this film was made or why the actors that were in it…were in it. I love Anna Faris, I love Danny Masterson, Adam Brody, and I love John Krasinski. I wish he didn't take this part. His role scared me a little bit. It was hard to believe it was the same man I was in love with from the office. His shower scene may have scarred me for life. Anyway, it wasn't funny, it wasn't too stupid, it wasn't amusing, it wasn't too boring…I don't like pot humor though so maybe the rest of the world will like this film.
