Freaky Friday Trailers

Mother and daughter bicker over everything -- what Anna wears, whom she likes and what she wants to do when she's older. In turn, Anna detests Tess's fiancé. When a magical fortune cookie switches their personalities, they each get a peek at how the other person feels, thinks and lives.

Reviews
Tockinit not horrible nor great
SunnyHello Nice effects though.
WillSushyMedia This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
Taraparain Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.
adonis98-743-186503 An overworked mother and her daughter do not get along. When they switch bodies, each is forced to adapt to the other's life for one freaky Friday. The best part of Freaky Friday is probably the perfomances by it's two leads, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan cause once the change really happens and the mother and daughter change bodies the film becomes a whole lotta fun cause if it was good at the beginning? It gets even better as it goes along. Overall a movie that i really much enjoyed that showcases Disney's good times in the movies. (A+)
johnral321 I usually wouldn't review a movie like this, but I felt that the current rating of 6.2 does not do this movie justice. At the risk of repeating what others here have said, the acting of mother and daughter in the movie was spot-on. The comedy was very well done. The movie strikes the right emotional tone and is very touching, and is very effective at demonstrating the importance of perspective. My favorite scene is the one with the guitar; I always find that very powerful.
Tweekums Fifteen year old Anna Coleman is convinced that her mother, widowed psychiatrist Dr Tess Coleman, doesn't understand her… and to a degree she is right. Her mother believes that her daughter doesn't appreciate how hard adult life is… and she is also right. Things come to a head when Anna's band is due to take part in an important audition on the night of her mother's wedding rehearsal. This leads to a confrontation at a Chinese restaurant; seeing them arguing the owner's mother gives each of them a fortune cookie and says something in Chinese. As Anna and her mother read their fortunes they feel an earthquake, which nobody else in the restaurant appears to notice. The next day they are in for a shock; Anna is in her mother's body and her mother is in her body! After getting over the initial shock they must try to live each other's lives. At first they are somewhat horrified at how the other lives but as each sees the other's lives they grow to understand each other more.I watched the original 'Freaky Friday' as a child in the seventies and again a few years ago; having watched this new version I'd say it is a reboot rather than a remake… the premise is the same most key details have changed. The most obvious difference is that the daughter is noticeably older here which means that it is also aimed at a slightly older audience. The story is fun and provides plenty of laughs as well as a few potentially cringe inducing moments involving the boy Anna fancies. Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis do great jobs especially when their characters have swapped bodies and each must play somebody of a very different age. The supporting cast is pretty solid too; especially Mark Harmon who plays Tess's fiancé. Overall this fill is a lot of fun without featuring anything that is likely to offend.
SnoopyStyle Tess Coleman (Jamie Lee Curtis) can't seem to get along with her teenage daughter Anna (Lindsay Lohan). Tess is a therapist getting married to Ryan (Mark Harmon). Anna's life in school isn't going that well. Stacey (Julie Gonzalo) is picking on her. School hunk Jake (Chad Michael Murray) doesn't know she exists. She keeps getting detention. Then Jake talks to her. Her band has an audition but it's her mother's wedding rehearsal. They get into a big fight at the Chinese restaurant and magic fortune cookies set them switching bodies. As a Disney teen movie, it's relatively harmless. It's better than most. Lindsay Lohan is good at playing the teen at this point and it's a good start to her high school roles. It's easier for her to play more uptight during the switch. Jamie Lee Curtis is great at being childish. She has the tougher job. The great thing is that both actresses do credible jobs both before and after the switch. The story isn't that special. It's a pretty straight forward body switch.
