KingBrian1 Not a fan of the Da Vinci series this one is the rare exception. Tom Hanks returns as the Symbolist Robert Langdon to investigate a murder mystery kept secret by the Vatican. This movie delves into the history of Reformation era Europe. The film is a political critic so to speak of Vatican responses or rather reactions to reform and secularism over the centuries. We get to see Langdon working with Dr Victoria Vetra, a CERN scientist traversing the beautiful city ruins of Rome figuring out yet another disturbing mystery that jeopardizes all of Christianity. We learn of a secret conspiracy in the high echelons of the Catholic Church. The Anti-Christ Papacy is before us and Langdon and Vetra must learn from the texts how to interpret what is playing out in front of them. Great scenery and it was brilliant to have access to Vatican archives and seeing what the Vatican looks like from all angles. Langdon goes through a Damascene conversion of sorts as he too is no fool to political intriguing that is going on within the Catholic Church and the need for guidance. Guidance offered by Ewan McGregor's role in the film as the caretaker Pope during a period of unease within the Vatican.

kmbaruah from movie making point of view this is very good.But from the "thought inspiring" viewpoint it is one of the best.The thought inspiring nature of movies is the only thing that is needed to learn things.Now about the movie making view------------ For making a movie one needs 2 things -idea and format.The idea is itself a high one i.e Dan brown's.The format should have been varying from it but it fully agrees with the idea.And to the extent both agrees is what the output is.Overall it is very thought inspiring. Learn and Fun -these are the two things that are needed for entertainment of the mass and also individuals.One of these or both are final things that a movie needs at the end.

Kirpianuscus adaptation of one of his novels.nothing new. answer to success of a bestseller series. but... . the charm of style is lost. the story is real confuse. the joy to discover a decent film remains unrealistic. because it has the gift to be a collections of runs, mysteries, theories without any support. a film who has not the advantage of cast because Tom Hanks is far to be part of his character and Ewan McGregor seems do a work without purpose. sure, Vatican. sure, the clash between police and science. but all at the most unrealistic level. without the desire to give a story to the public. only few action moments. but each could be better in another genre product.
