I watched the first episode for free on playstation video some time ago and was immensely surprised at just how good it was, but it wasn't until just last week that I finally ordered the rest of the season. All I can say is WOW - what an absolutely spectacular show!! I binge watched the whole season in one day, I just couldn't stop it was so good! Its loaded with laughs, suspense, mystery, drama - everything you want in a good science fiction show. The Orville is more "Star Trek" than the modern incarnation of the actual star trek show, and miles better to boot. I wait eagerly for the release of the second season. If you like science fiction shows like firefly, TNG, Voyager etc you're going to absolutely love the Orville! Well, unless you're a sjw.

A vanity project, surely. The terribly tedious Seth Macfarlane writes and casts himself as the Captain Kirk character - only the gag is that it's Kirk/Picard/Janeway's ex-partner that's the First Officer on a third-class starship crewed by a selection of completely predictable androids/aliens/adolescents. And that IS the only gag. Dreadful CGI, atrocious costume design, and laboured writing. If there was straight-to-DVD for TV, this would be it.If you enjoy this, you have brain damage.

The Orville is a nice show to watch. It's fun, exciting, and has some really great moments throughout the series. The first few episodes of the season were average, with immature feeling humor and no real sense of what the show even was, but after The Orville reaches it's halfway point, the writers and directors really begin to hit their stride. My favorite episodes are About a Girl, Majority Rule, Cupid's Dagger, and New Dimensions (which is quite visually stunning). My only complaint is that episodes like Krill and Mad Idolatry are blatantly anti-religion and are too preachy, often misrepresenting the subject they are trying to criticize.I'll give The Orville a 7 out of 10 because it's fun to watch and because it has lots of potential.

The Orville is a great show. Don't let moronic reviews deceive you. The fact that they would compare it with Star Trek is ridiculous! This wonderful show stands out on it's own and deserves a good long run.
