justincward The painfully politically correct trials of a late-middle-aged law partner.Christine Baranski in a 'Good Wife' spinoff which knowingly addresses US racial/social/political issues and turns them into high-stakes soap fodder.Now, I was reasonably amused by The Good Fight for three or four episodes because let's face it, it's smart. You don't get to be a scriptwriter for a high-powered legal soap (writcom) without having first-class writing chops. Then they brought in Matthew (Friends) Perry as high-powered villain lawyer because everybody else was so busy having their prejudices confronted.Sorry, guys, he stinks. That's S-T-I-N-K-S. He makes it unwatchable on any level; nostalgic, ironic or 'Úgly Betty meets Thirty Something meets L.A. Law'. As your attention wanders when he's on screen, you start to realise how patronising, pompous and pathetic The Good Fight is. Yes, it's great to have black people, lesbians and women of a certain vintage being the lead characters, but this is just fanciful virtue signalling throughout. "Hey! Blacks, lesbians and old ladies have the same legal problems as the rest of us. It's just that we thought we'd stunt-cast a WASP has-been to let you know where we're really coming from".

And, like The Good Wife, you get to learn some legal tidbits and see legal maniverung that most of us, probably even many lawyers, will never get to see first hand.

Like you cannot get it 24/7 already from all of Hollywood. At least The Good Wife tried to be somewhat subtle and balanced. This show is full on impeach Trump and Trump is evil. That is their mantra. What happened to real entrancement without the politics! Geez. Can we have no shows anymore that just tell stories without the cast and writers shoving their propaganda down our throats?
