Reviews
Tacticalin An absolute waste of money
Myron Clemons A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Bessie Smyth Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
karina_k_a This movie tells the story of the famous American singer and songwriter Johnny Cash, performed in the style of country, gospel, and made a great contribution to the development of rock'n'roll. Events occur at a momentous time, and it formed the era of a completely new wave of the evolution of musical art, to emerging rock-n-roll. This time, the fifties of the twentieth century, it differs special style, the post-war world came to life and bloomed with bright colors of new life, a new generation. All modern music was born in those glorious days when the first enthusiasts and revolutionaries of the musical world took up their guitars. Among them, Johnny Cash, whose contribution to the development of rock and roll, is undervalued, but this is simply explained, all the attention to himself took Elvis Presley. The film was very bright and stylish, and looks at one go.
mani_ch This film describes the time when rock 'n' roll was a new trend in music. The author was able to accurately convey the atmosphere of that time. The film reveals the history of not only the musical path, but also the history of child-parent relations and how they affected in adult life. Songs Joni Kesch wrote from the experiences of life. The film is collected from the most significant moments of the singer's life. At an early age, strict education of the father and the tragic death of his brother. Further service in the army, the first wife and the beginning of creative activity. Getting acquainted with June Carter became a turning point for the singer both in his personal life and in his work, they start touring together and they have a romance. Then the black strip of Kesh's life is shown, this is the departure of the first wife with the child, the drug addiction of the singer and how Jun Carter and his family help get rid of it. The ending of the film was the moment when the beloved agrees to become his wife. The singer had to wait for a positive response for ten years. The film is at least a long one, but I liked it thanks to the actors' play.
laalmadeguerra This biographical film is devoted to the life story of the legendary country singer Johnny Cash and his second wife, June Carter. The youth of Cash, born in 1932 in Arkansas, was overshadowed by the tragic death of his elder brother and the disdainful attitude towards him by his father, who considered him to be a bad son. The future singer and musician passed military service in Germany in the ranks of the US Air Force. In 1954 he married Vivian, who gave birth to his daughter, and in 1955, at the age of 23, released his first hit "Cry, Cry, Cry". Soon Cash went on a tour of the US along with Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and June Carter, whom he hopelessly dreamed for ten years. Critical moments in the life of Cash were accompanied by his addiction to amphetamine and alcohol. In 1968, Cash and Carter became husband and wife and lived together until the death of June in May 2003. Cash died in September of the same year. It is interesting that Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon perform all the songs in the film. Six months before the shooting began the actors had studied vocal music. They also took lessons on playing musical instruments - guitar and harmonica respectively. Joaquin Phoenix impressed with his play. I was surprised when I found out that Reese Witherspoon had received an Oscar for this film, but he did not. I certainly love Reese and all that, but even in this tape, it fades in comparison with the heartfelt and accurate game of Joaquin Phoenix! He played brilliantly. He also sang very similar to the original. Reese Witherspoon, sang in a different way, but also very good. I was even surprised that she had such a good voice. Music! Music and the madness of music! That's what I saw, heard and felt throughout the 90 minutes of the film. I saw it, and I felt it, because the scenery was penetrated in music. All this story was mixed up on it. The dynamics of rock 'n' roll was replaced by the thoughtfulness of the blues, the rolling of country music. And in all this was the meaning of the told love story, which at that time saved the singer.
vlada-04213 That was an unusual feeling after watching this movie. I thought I would worry about Johnny's wife and family but I didn't. Did I feel sorry for Johnny? I can't say so. It was unusual for me because all the time I watch movies I find a character to sympathize to. But not this time. What's the reason? I tried to find it out. This movie is more than just about a person or some event. For me this movie is about values. In this movie I saw how people can choose different values than they had before. It made me think about the time of value. Before it I thought if a person has some strong values he/she will follow them whatever happens. Not everything is so simple.
