Reviews
StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
Myron Clemons A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Brennan Camacho Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
Jakoba True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
vkap-13252 The reviews rated this highly so I watched this but it was one of the most disappointing "thrillers". Reviewers seem to be ga ga about Kamala Hasan and yes, the movie is different in its style. The narration is repeatedly interrupted by flashbacks that hurt the pace of the story. The first half is particularly slow and doesn't really build towards anything. It is true that unlike the usual Hindi movie, there are no perfect characters here but the movie falls mostly flat as the plot is revealed and a transition is made from mystery to thriller/action. Songs mostly distract without even the standard bollywood masala value. Baby and Phantom did a far better job and even less perfect thrillers like Holiday and December 16 do a better job of keeping you riveted.
nagalajai An usual story with the hero fighting against terrorism and terrorist (tat's all can be said rest watch it in theatres ).But guys this is something very very new to Indian cinema.Intelligent cinema, with a lot of brians involved.Once again it's proved that tamil industry is growing higher and higher on every step Actually we should stop saying that our films are being made to Hollywood standard, because we have started that almost 2-years ago. This film is something which even film-makers from Hollywood have to look out for. WoW what a man...S this is what comes to mind when we see kamal taking the film all under his arms. Sadest part is that he is not been recognised by his own people, the way others does.As they have already spoken a lot about the film, review is unnecessary but a quick tip. Do not spare even a second to think what's happening in the film, everything will be clarified as the film progresses to the climax. Or else you would end up saying "Padam onnumey puriyaladaa" as we normally do once we fail to understand such masterpiece.Just to sum it up: *Great product from India's truly one of the best Director. *Brilliant and Brainy film-making. Masterpiece, where we need to be prepared from our end to understand it as it has a lot of universal information (infact truth) *After a long long time a movie that has all reasons to be watched in theatres for a least 3 times.Great effort that has all key elements to be a successful venture
yadaven VIshwaroopam is one the best movies of 2013 and of all time. The plot of this movie is very interesting with twists and turns and a lot of flashbacks. Without a sequel, this movie wouldn't have had the critical acclaim it has received so far. The acting of the lead roles were pretty impressive. the music was pretty good but not up to expectations. The only reason,in my opinion, this movie was successful is the intensity of the plot and the successful effect of "thrill". WIthout these very important elements, this movie would have been another on of those cheesy movies that were flops i.e. Sura. There still were very minor flaws in the otherwise perfect movie. First, the flashbacks got a little bit confusing towards the end of the story. Second, if movie was a little bit shorter, it might have made a bigger impact. Finally, the actors could have stepped up their performance a tiny bit more.
subrat-dwibedi Although technically competent, the movie lacks severely in most other areas, especially the screenplay. The story is highly clichéd and even feels confused at many occasions. This is a Tamil version of mindless action flicks such as Reddy, Bodyguard etc. However, Kamal Hassan's portrayal of a feminine dance teacher is extraordinary and is the only thing worth watching in the film. All the other actors play clichéd characters leaving much to be desired for in both depth of character as well as acting. Rahul Bose fails miserably in playing the role of a terrorist reinforcing the popular belief that he is only good in playing urban English speaking intellectual roles. The high rating in IMDb.com is misleading. But then this movie is perhaps in the same league as Mithun Da's highly rated movie "Gunda" (it had IMDb rating of 10/10 at one point of time!). I would recommend watching this film only for hard core Kamal Hassan fans.
