Reviews
Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Breakinger A Brilliant Conflict
Teddie Blake The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Raymond Sierra The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
jschroeder-24903 Charming story about the desire -- and the cost -- to follow your dreams. Ben Cantor knows his heart...loses his way...and discovers in the end that what he truly desired was always 'in the palm of his hand.' A nicely textured, and often surprisingly funny, movie that explores the nature of creativity, the lure of fame, and the abiding nature of love.Surprised -- and delighted -- to see top flight talent like Christopher LLoyd and Kevin Pollack in this small-budget indie film. The lead actors are engaging, too, and it was very much fun to see some old friends appear in cameo roles.Check it out -- a great way to spend your Friday evening, especially when surrounded by loved ones!
mr_peabody_70 "The One I Wrote For You" is a wonderful movie. It centers on the life of once famous Ben Cantor (played by talented actor Cheyenne Jackson), who has moved on from the spotlight and settled for a stable life to take care of his loving wife and daughter. As Ben sees himself immersed in the music industry again, we witness the ups and downs that are typical in such a career choice. It was nice to see Christopher Lloyd again in a supporting role. All characters are easy to relate to and the story in general is compelling. The acting in this movie is very believable and the songs are catchy. Since this is not a very mainstream movie I wonder if there is a Soundtrack. The One I Wrote For You is an excellent choice to watch with the whole family. Highly recommended.
joecantu20 This reminded me of films that I saw as a child. Every aspect of the movie was golden. Great story, acting, singing, and directing. If you have a dream, reach for the stars and see this film. Andy Lauer does a fine job directing and putting this story together that David Kauffman wrote. The music covers a wide spectrum, so everyone will have favorite song. This film is PG rated, so no worries about children seeing a bad scene. Come out and support this film, so this good film can make a difference to many across the country. Kevin Polluck might be able to get an Oscar nomination based on his wonderful performance. Help spread the news.
