Ceticultsot Beautiful, moving film.

Doomtomylo a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

Lucia Ayala It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

punishmentpark It was a lot of fun to see director Marjane Satrapi play the lead in her own film 'La bande des jotas'. She has charisma to spare, and her dialogs are offbeat and funny, as were the many confrontations with the duo she teams up with. Visually, it is very much worthwhile as well, and there are some utterly weird bits here and there.The weirdest part happened at the very end, of which I still don't understand one iota. And it seems there is no decent (with English or Dutch subs) DVD-release of this film anywhere, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope there will be one someday (I just had the luck of finding this via TV5 Monde). Maybe then, I'll be able to figure it all out...?In the meantime, I'm not at all bothered by not understanding what it all exactly means, because it is very entertaining on its own - accept the mystery!A good 8 out of 10.
