American Reunion Trailers

The characters we met a little more than a decade ago return to East Great Falls for their high school reunion. In one long-overdue weekend, they will discover what has changed, who hasn’t, and that time and distance can’t break the bonds of friendship.

Reviews
Diagonaldi Very well executed
Twilightfa Watch something else. There are very few redeeming qualities to this film.
Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Teddie Blake The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
CinemaClown The fourth instalment in the American Pie series may feel like an unnecessary addition after American Wedding concluded the saga of Jim & his friends on such a satisfactory note but American Reunion turns out to be a very pleasant surprise for it packs in a massive dose of nostalgia and manages to work solely on the basis of that particular element.Set 13 years after the events that transpired in American Pie, the story of American Reunion finds the original gang returning to the place where it all started as they gather together for one weekend for their high-school reunion. With over a decade behind them, everyone tries to find out what the other has been up to all these years but as always, things soon head in the unexpected zone.Written & directed by John Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg, this movie shouldn't even work considering that it neither adds anything new to the saga nor features any memorable gags which were offered by the last three chapters in heavy doses. It echoes a much relaxed feel when compared to its predecessors, an extra dash of sweetness in the returning characters and the nostalgic factor is in top gear mode here. While there are plenty of shout-outs to numerous past memories, the present life of these characters carries a funny vibe of its own. Stifler is still a crackerjack, Jim's dad is still the best, the humour may not be as crude & excessive as before but it still offers good laughs, the plot nonetheless feels a tad too long at 113 minutes, the heartwarming charm is still in tact, and the entire cast performs sufficiently in their given roles. On an overall scale, American Reunion is a flip back through the old pages that revives the wonderful memories of the past and leaves its mark in the form of a pleasant smile. Its plot is forgettable, the writers fail to come up with any outrageous moment of comedy that can match the ones present in its predecessors, but by riding on the strength of nostalgia and offering many welcome nods to the original, American Reunion will succeed in entertaining its targeted audience.
Leofwine_draca Although I hate the lowbrow comedy genre ever since its inception in the late 1990s with the likes of THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY and THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME, for some reason I consider myself a fan of the American PIE franchise. This is the fourth in the series which takes the expected route of catching up with the characters as they deal with adulthood. The story is surprisingly sweet and sentimental if you take out all of the puerile humour. Crucially, for fans of the series, the producers have managed to pretty much reunite the entire cast, including Chris Klein, who was missing from the last instalment as I recall. So watching these characters mingling again after all these years is a great deal of fun, and the camaraderie and humour that flows between them is pretty decent.Yes, there are some obnoxious jokes here, and situations that scream facile; typically those involving Stifler. Nonetheless, Seann William Scott is undeniably charming in this part, and I notice that his character has deliberately softened a little, less jarring, more humane this time. The same goes with the others and I think that's why I like this series so much: despite the gross-outs, these films are all about warmth and friendship. American REUNION is a lot of fun.
umut3429 The movie is very successful.I watch the film every month.Every scenes is very successful. There a couple new characters but none of them are annoying or take up too much of the story, all those parts are well cast. Jim's Dad and Stifler's Mom are hilarious on screen together. Jim's Dad is the funniest he has ever been- but again- not in an over the top way. All in all, it's a well- written, well-rounded film with some good plot twists. Tons of references too the old films. Literally, all of the obscure characters from the first two make an appearance at some point.10/10 Point :)
sirable1 I don't understand how viewers would actually admire this film? Honestly, I think the series of American Pie went down hill soon after the spin offs are made. The original American Pie film (1999) was quite a good teenage film for it's time. It was a funny, serious and had a deemed message on the society areas within American high school. Although there was problems within the film itself, such as Christopher Klein's terrible acting, Jim's father being too involved in Jim's sexual life and as such areas are deemed to be unrealistic. Nevertheless, that film was quite good and I would given it a positive review. I was expecting American Reunion would have the satisfying outcomes of the first film with now all new lives with the main characters with children and as such made their lives where they are at the moment. This foolish decision turned out to be one of the worst experience I've ever had in the history of cinema for my personal viewing. From context such as acting, characters (which are just a repeat from the first film), storyline and the dialogue itself is probably the worst in cinema. Viewing the entire film was somewhat the same experience as Alex DeLarge from 'A Clockwork Orange' was viewing the harmful videos during the therapy session. Jim and his gang are now mostly married and have children of their own. They are aged probably in their early 30s. The storyline goes from Jim and his friends hitting on young teenagers (~ aged 17-19) is somewhat a bit creepy to say for the least. Chris Klein's character, Oz, was even more worse than his performance within the first film. It seems like every time whenever he's trying to say part of his dialogue, it's either he's not tempted to do so or he has no skills in acting whatsoever. Either way, most actors within the film are like this. It seems like the director don't give one damn about it, it's just a come and go if you'd like to say just in one shot. This film's a mess from the ground up through every bit of the context within the film. It seemed that throughout the viewing of this film, it seemed that the context in areas of acting is deemed to be equal as a porno acting. I think my IQ level decreased when I first viewed this film. With it's un-original film, please don't go near this film. 0/10
