Hungry mosquitos, in search of a meal, find that fruit, flowers and other such fare doesn't satisfy. One enterprising bug hits the jackpot - a human! However, the victim vigorously resists joining the food chain, causing a number of winged casualties. The little buggers wait until the man falls asleep, then set up a number of enterprises: cafes, bars, filling stations, all serving blood. Things are going well, but then the mosquito Cosa Nostra moves in, and ramp production into high gear.

Dorathen Better Late Then Never
ShangLuda Admirable film.
Borgarkeri A bit overrated, but still an amazing film
Janis One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
MartinHafer Like Bruno Bozzetto's other films, the graphics of this short are definitely not the reason to watch. Graphically, it's very simple--with slightly squiggly lines and a hastily drawn appearance. However, despite not being the prettiest film (with a strong 1970s style), it is quite funny and well worth seeing. The film is all about mosquitoes all trying to bite people and drink blood--a rather simple concept that Bozzetto and his staff all managed to milk for all its worth (and then some). Sure, the film goes on a bit too long, but because there is so much funny stuff, you don't mind the excess. Again and again, the bugs fail in their quest until later in the film--then things get a bit weird. I loved the scene late in the film when the mosquitoes are all in church--praying fervently. It's all very cute. The only complaint I have is that this cartoon (and one other I saw recently) didn't do its homework--male mosquitoes are not blood suckers--only the females. Oops.
