Reviews
StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Griff Lees Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
stuartlhay-91360 I don't know. This movie was incredibly disappointing, I was a huge fan of Percy Jackson, and this threw a lightening bolt in the face of my love for it.
tigrexthrasher It was boring from start to finish. I hate a movie that after your done watching you feel like you wasted time of your life. I was planning on doing marathon and watch all the movies. Now I am just gonna go ahead and delete the second one from now.DONT WATCH THIS movie if you value your life!
RNMorton I am a little at a loss as to the IMDb review and ratings on this movie. I found it engrossing, fast moving and a ton of fun. Percy is the son of Olympian god Poseidon, along with his satyr protector he meets up and teams with Athena's daughter Annabeth to try to stop Olympus from tearing itself apart in civil war. Lerman as Percy and Daddario as Annabeth are attractive and very able stars, they are placed in a number of precarious situations along with satyr Grover, also well-played by Jackson. Although the gods have now been ordered to not have contact with their kids I don't think it's a spoiler to say some sort of contact occurs during the movie. I thought the idea of modern American kids being demigods was different and exciting, also seeing the machinations of the gods that affect them. The story made sense and ran well, this was followed by a sequel that looked as good but didn't play nearly as well, not that unusual for sequels. But sit back and enjoy this one.
michaelclifford-38758 The only things from the book that were really kept here are: Percy is Poseidon's son, he is accused of stealing a lightning bolt, has a pen that turns into a sword, and goes on a quest to get it back. There were a lot of funny, important plot details that were left out here. They kept in the absolutely major plot details, yes, but it all feels to rushed and forced to be an accurate rendition of the book to the screen. The screenwriter should be ashamed. I hope that this series will be cut where it is, and maybe in a few years, they will remake the movies with actors of the correct age, and portray Riordan's work well.
