filippaberry84 I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Calum Hutton It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
Michael_Elliott Olga's Girls (1964) BOMB (out of 4) The third of a five film series has the evil Olga (Audrey Campbell) back in business where she gets women hooked on drugs and sells them off to shady men. Of course, these girls better not back-stab Olga or else there will be a price to pay.I'm not gonna lie, I held off watching this movie for well over a decade because I hated the triple feature that Somethng Weird Video released back in the day. There are so many sexploitation movies out there that I was rather shocked that this series had such a minor cult following because all four of the ones that I've watched are pretty bad. Sadly, we'll never know how bad the entire series is because there's a film that is lost. With that said, the decade long wait didn't really improve my feelings towards this film. As with the others, this here is mainly just meant for men to be able to see some nudity but the entire film is just so awful that even the nude women can't do anything. You've got women being slapped around, thrown around and abused in a variety of fashions but none of it is memorable. You've got no sound instead there's just awful narration that tells you what is going on.Look, if you enjoy this type of film then I'm happy because that means more will eventually be released. The sexploitation genre has some golden eggs out there but this one here, and the entire series, is just downright awful.
Woodyanders Ruthless narcotics dealer and white slavery ring leader Olga (sternly played by striking brunette beauty Audrey Campbell) keeps her harem of girls in line by hooking them on addictive drugs. Olga suspects an informant in their midst and uses various brutal methods of torture to weed out the squealer. Meanwhile, several of Olga's girls plot their revenge against Olga for her continual sadistic treatment of them. Writer/director Joseph P. Mawra scrupulously covers all the essential sordid bases with often sleazy and hence most enjoyable results: lots of lovely ladies in various stages of undress, copious drug use (the swingin' pot party set piece rates as a definite racy highlight), lesbianism, oodles of savage and inhumane torture, fetishism (Olga wears a black rubber "Cape of Persuasion" while meting out cruel punishments to her more recalcitrant gals), dismemberment, harsh violence (the informant has her tongue cut off!), and even a heated protracted catfight. The lack of direct sound and excessive use of solemn narration give this picture the strange feel of a forbidden micro-budget "adults only" silent feature gone seriously sick and seedy. William Rose's stark inky black and white cinematography perfectly captures all the on-screen depravity. Clyde Otis' neatly varied score uses familiar classical music cues to genuinely jarring effect. Entertaining low-grade sleaze.
monsterhead_x I've seen allot of sexploitation movies but this is by far the best. Think of this movie as one of those educational films from the fifties/sixties, like A TRIP TO THE DAIRY or DENTAL HYGENE AND YOU. Only this is about a white slavery ring, communism, S&M and lesbianism!Shot with no sound, this movie features only narraration to the astounding scenes of kinky torture. (Only Olga's voice, besides our faithful commentator, can be heard) This flick also has the best usage of Berlioz's NIGHT ON BALD MOUNTAIN ever used in a film. (move over FANTASIA)OLGA'S GIRLS is a sight to behold!
