Ploydsge just watch it!
Logan Dodd There is definitely an excellent idea hidden in the background of the film. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find it.
Kimball Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
lenakasatova I want to write a review on the film by Menno Meyjes "Martian Child". This film was shot in 2013. The main actors are John Cusack, Bobby Coleman, Amanda Peet, Sophie Okedo, Joan Cusack. The Genre is drama, family, comedy. The main idea of this film is the theme of adopted children and their relationship with new parents, as well as the theme of love and understanding of their children. The film is very close to problems of a real life. Many families in our time are forced to take children from the orphanage, but not all cope with their upbringing and accept them as relatives. This film caused me exclusively positive emotions. The film is suitable for family viewing and will be of interest to almost everyone. This is a very kind film. The director tells us a story about a young writer David, who has dreamed of a child for many years, but his beloved woman died, and they never manage to have a child. The tragedy of the loss of love pushes David to take a child from the orphanage. When he comes to an orphanage, he chooses an unusual child, a strange, problematic child. The boy's name is Dennis and he does not go out into the light sitting in a cardboard box during the day, he tells everyone that he is from Mars and sunlight can kill him. David takes responsibility to cope with the psychological problems of the boy and adopts him. He sees in him a native soul, the boy was once very badly injured, his soul hurts like the soul of the protagonist, which was injured by a huge loss. No one understands him, even his own sister. They do not understand why he needs such a burden and responsibility. Schools do not want such a child. Teachers assure that the child is not able to communicate with other children and steals their things. But David struggles to get inside Dennis's inner world and help him. In my opinion, the film is very exciting. It is filled with funny moments and moments, when you want to cry from happiness. Music corresponds to the content. The play of actors is great. There is the moment where the boy performs the dance with the music, this moment also causes only positive emotions. I recommend everyone to watch this movie. You can get together with the whole family and have a good time watching a wonderful soul movie. I want to review this movie again and again.
karina_k_a I like these movies. Easy, not very stressful, a bit tearful and with excellent actors. The film does not claim any artistic value. There is no huge and it is not clear what spending budget. Here the film is based on an incredible story, which, on the one hand, could happen to everyone, but on the other in its own original. It would seem - what can be original in the history of misunderstanding between the father and the adopted child? Such films have removed an incredible variety, and each new release the film has been sharply criticized, there are many unnecessary stamps, etc., the picture people, too, did not take a particularly solemn, and critics said about the movie is not very good. And many people trust the opinion of critics, refused to view this creation and, I think, has lost a great deal... This movie is something personal and intimate. The one who fully experienced the film, not understand why he is so good. No matter how people try to evaluate films objectively, a small slice of subjectivity will be present in their opinion. What I was saying - this film is aimed at certain subjects - persons who have place in life the same as with the heroes of the film and just sensitive and sentimental people. I can not be attributed neither to the first nor to the last of the above. I just like stories about strong and courageous people. The protagonist of the film - a writer of fiction novels - the soul, not understanding among themselves like. Yes, he is a successful writer and a lot of people are Curling around him, but they are "friends" only because of his popularity. More or less normal friends he can name only three people - a childhood friend, a fellow science fiction writer and his sister, but they hardly are the people with whom he is willing to spend the whole day. And he decides to adopt a child, but not simple, but very strange and toronados other, in which the writer soon finds what he was looking for - a true friend and understands how important a father in the life of any child... This story that holds the film is incredibly sensual and beautiful. The end, to be honest, even me, not a sentimental person, brought tears to the eyes and the smile on her face. It's just an amazing movie! In the picture, in addition to the suffocating history, we are shown, as it were, a lesson in how to learn to understand other people, unlike others. It's like an analysis of human relations - and that's the main charm of the film, highlighting it against the background of their own kind. In General, this incredibly sensual and piercing film is a must-watch, but I'm more than sure that like this picture is not many.
valeriiakuznetsova This is an example of a nice family movie. The plot is pretty original and ordinary at the same time: an adult adopts a child nd tries to find common ground with him. The special thing about their relations is that the little boy imagined that he is from a different planet and behaves as a Martian child. He hopes that one day his real parents will come back to Earth and get him. He can't understand how his mother could abandoned him and creates such an image. John Ceasuck in the role of father plays brilliantly. His character tries to get the boy out his world without turning his brains. Actually, if to think generally this story can be applied to any child as everybody fabled at least once. And it can be apllied to adults too. Every person is from Mars in a way. The movie is full of funny moments and it is simulteneously thought-provoking. There are moments to analyse and to think of ourselves. I suppose Martian Child is a good example of right family values. I reccomend to watch this movie to everybody at least to enlarge the outlook and maybe to reconsider the attitude towards unusual people. There is much more hidden under frivolous behaviour.
elenaleader The first 20 minutes were kind of rustic, so I was like "not more than 6, probably". Somewhere after "Winston Churchill" quotation it started getting more and more fascinating, and I thought "well, all is not lost, I might give it 8 after all". The last 15 minutes made me cry as hard as I possibly could. So it's 10. This wondeful movie deserves even more, but that's all I can give to it."Martian Child" is a story about a little boy, Dennis (Bobby Coleman), who strongly believes that he is from Mars and claims that his parents will soon come to get him home and a newly-widower, David (John Cusack), who stuggles with untimely demise of his wife and decides to adopt little Martian child to honour his wife, who also once was an orphan and has always dreamt of taking an abandoned child.Dennis was marveoulsly potrayed by very talented young actor, Bobby Coleman, who managed to create an image of an "extraterrestrial creature". At the beginning of the movie, we can see Dennis inside the box - both, explicitly and implicitly. But, gradually, he learns how to be a "human" and goes out of the box. The audience understands right from the start, that Dennis, imagining himself being from Mars, is only hiding from the real truth - he was rejected by his parents and they will never come back again. But Dennis. He lives in his own world. For him, being a Martian is a new norm, so, he doesn't understand why adults want to convince him he is just making up things.David is a best-selling author of a sci-fi book about the space adventures. At the end of his novel all the main characters die, but his editor wants him to write a sequel, which is, obviously, impossible. So, David writes a story about his aqquentance with Dennis and tells the readers about the way he teaches this young creature to be a "human". The editor doesn't like even the idea of the book and asks David a question, which is a culmination of the whole movie - why can't you be what we want you to be? David is also a Marian child. A bit older, but also rejected by the society. They help each other. A little boy helps an adult to make first steps after his wife's passing away. A little boy shows him that the most important thing is to be yourself, no matter what they say. An adult makes little boy believe that love exists. An adult promises little boy to accept him as he is, as, by the end of the day, it's the only thing that matters. P.s. Many thanks to the people who created the script. "Loving one, which is already here" "Sometimes we just reach out and expect nothing in return" "You should never ever-ever-ever-ever-ever-ever-ever give up. Winston Churchill said that, I think" "I have found out that I can love an alien, and he can love a creature"
