Softwing Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

kirk-246 'Johnson Family Vacation' isn't your typical family-going-on-a-vacation type of movie.What it is on the other hand is an hour and a half comedy that didn't disappoint and actually had some laughs.It's really not a bad movie to watch.If you're looking for a clean and wholesome family movie, you'll probably be taking the wrong road if you show this movie to your kids.Expect everything from Cedric the Entertainer being partly nude to some brief sexual dialog and dancing.Teens and adults should be able to take the content and turn it into a fun movie that shouldn't be taken too seriously.So sit back and at least try to watch this movie and enjoy it for what it is.Just one question: Why on Earth would a hitchhiker name her pet alligator Twinkee?

justjessgirl I thought this movie was awesome..awesome casting,awesome music and y'all must be crazy if ya don't think so.I watched it over and over. Solange Knowles was great as her character and so was bow wow,gabby soleil(destiny) was so awesome and so was all the other cast members ..Cedric the entertainer was great at the 2 characters he played and continued to make me laugh.One of my fave parts in the movie was At the end when they are finally at the reunion and do their performance.I loved that song along with pretty much every other song that was put in that film.I really really thoroughly enjoyed this movie from start to finish.All round a STAND out,funny,FANTASTIC film.

Ray Sesmatt Ugh, this movies was bad. Not so bad that you want to hunt the filmmakers down and get your money back. Bud pretty close. The movie insults its audience on so many levels. Do we not have a clue which end of a car the muffler is on? It is so forced and contrived. The wife is just mean to the hubby. Shannon Elizabeth's alligator comes out of nowhere, and The Entertainer is just an Ego Maniac. I mean please, even Madonna didn't call herself "Madonna The Signer" How far would Spielberg have gotten as "Steven The Director" Cedric's head is bigger then the fat body you get to see in this movie. Which by the way the only bear chest exposed in this is his. I'd NEVER watch this again.

princess003katana I will not give away most of the story. But maybe the fact that I was raised on the original vacation movies, I had a hard time accepting this as a remake. I do think Cedrick the entertainer and Vanessa Williams did a great job in their roles, but the remake could never hold a candle to the original Vacation or any of the sequels for that matter. (except for Christmas vacation 2).I did find the first part of the movie very entertaining, but I somehow got lost in the sudden change of the story, where the Johnson family Finally makes it to the reunion, and has to turn around and leave. Although, the fact that it was one wrong turn after another, and a story of a family coming together, I must give it some credit for sticking to some of the original "vacation" movie. I would not recommend it to someone who loves the original vacation movies.
