Payno I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

rockyandbullwinkle This isn't a jackass flick. Don't get me wrong, this has the jackass gang but it plays out like a movie where the actors don't go out of character and are not playing themselves. It brought me to tears of laughter many times. This may be a guy flick (my wife hates it) but what I love is the sense of humanity the unknowing participants express (and of course the outrageous stunts). Definitely worth giving it a shot!

Bryan Kluger 'Jackass' is back! Well, sort of. Johnny Knoxville has re-teamed with his 'Jackass' crew, including director Jeff Tremaine, to make a new movie centered on his character Irving Zisman, an elderly man who steals, curses, and fools real people into thinking that he's harmed himself by doing a variety of stunts and gags. Also, he likes to show off his 12-inch sagging scrotum to anyone who walks by. Mixing in a narrative story with real pranks on real people, 'Bad Grandpa' is like 'Borat' with the 'Jackass' brand. And man, does it work. I haven't laughed so hard in a movie theater in a long time.If you've seen any of the 'Jackass' movies, you should know that the Irving character is raunchy, vulgar and not above putting himself in harm's way. The narrative story here features a kid named Billy (Jackson Nicoll) whose mother is about to start a prison sentence for drugs and other felonies. She gives the kid to her father Irving (Knoxville) in the middle of the funeral ceremony for his recently deceased wife. She tells him to drive Billy across country to be with his father. Needless to say, Billy's father is no prized human either. He sells drugs and stolen electronics.Billy and Irving embark on a long road trip with many misadventures along the way. The movie is mostly shot with hidden HD cameras, as Knoxville captures real people and their real reactions to his gags, which are often very funny. From Irving getting his schlong stuck inside a vending machine to Billy posing as a girl in a toddler beauty pageant, all of the pranks had me laughing 'til I cried. Yet there's less of a gross-out factor than the other 'Jackass' movies. Instead, we get comically awkward moments with real people at their jobs, such as Irving trying to overnight Billy in a package at the post office.What works here is the chemistry between Knoxville and Nicoll. The boy is far advanced from his actual age, and can keep up with Knoxville's antics and improvisations. He's a cute kid and is genuinely funny throughout. As for Knoxville, he amps up his Irving character to 11 and never holds back. Although I wasn't too sure about making a whole movie about this character, I was pleasantly surprised at how funny it turned out.

Pau Evo I never really got into Jackass films, so this was the first one that i truly watched. I have to say it was funny and worth watching but its so dumb at times that i couldn't help but hope some scenes would end faster ("Strip Club" and "Post Office"). The lead character grandpa -Johnny Knoxville- who i really liked in 'The Ringer' goes on a road trip to bring his grandson, Billy, to his dad, Chuck, who is a slow witted, poor, druggie that doesn't care about his son. The reason that he has to take care of the kid is because the mother got arrested for violating parole. The movie starts off with a bang when grandpa gets something stuck in the vending machine and begs onlookers to help. This movie was basically a series of pranks on unsuspecting people. Supposedly it was real and not fake but there were times when i felt the reactions of the people were not serious enough to be real. In between the pranks a story is woven between a grandfather and his grandson bonding. Of course, grandpa doesn't much care for the boy's company when he is going after women. Jackson Nicoll, who played Billy did a great job, he had great chemistry with Knoxville throughout the film. 7/10 I thought it was a little overrated because of how truly dumb it is but at it's core the 2 main characters are memorable and likable and there are some serious laughs in this movie.

bobby bobingtonson I found a lot of this film not very funny and kind of boring, at most things could make me smirk maybe but not laugh. However there were a few exceptions and I'm glad I watched the entire film just for them. The talent show bit in particular I found so so funny. So personally I would not recommend watching the entire film to a friend but I would show them clips of the few parts I found funny and worth watching. Overall I guess I am glad I watched it for the few parts which did make me genuinely laugh and so if someone has spare time to watch a few not very funny things as well and wait for a part which will make you laugh then I think it's an OK film to watch.
