TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
TaryBiggBall It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
Gurlyndrobb While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
stepi-1 This movie gives chick flicks a bad name. The dialogue is miserable. I offer as evidence....the story about crawling through vents and taking pictures Ha ha (was that supposed to be cute?) the expert way he approached an adolescent with "I bet you have a lot of friends at school." what if the answer is no? The secondary story line with the friends really strains credulity and while all the characters are somewhat attractive there is simply no life there. Even the parts that are supposed to be deep philosophical points (the painter and his navy story) ultimately go nowhere, which is the theme of this film, you keep waiting for something of consequence to happen.I'm sorry if you are thinking about renting this, keep looking unless you're looking for a comedy ala Plan 9 from Outer Space
kent-104 But the fun is in the journey.I found this movie to be extremely enjoyable, not only are both leads extremely easy on the eyes, the humor from the supporting cast and the jokes actually made me laugh out loud several times.Yes, it's predictable, and yes, it's a cliché romantic comedy. But the point is that it's a sweet story, the message about finding your one true love also rings true in many ways. The dialog is dead-on and the acting is well done on all parts, and over the top for comic effect. The Bulgari scene is worth it's weight in gold, the actress there deserves honorable mention! For those that panned it for being predictable - If you want a film with twists and turns that keep you guessing... then you want a thriller. This is a romantic comedy... it touched my heart and made me realize that I was lucky enough to find my true love in life, and it has been worth every effort along the way.Great date movie, great movie for a happy cry...
della-10 The key word here is "potential". After seeing "Never Been Kissed", which I absolutely loved, I was on a search for another Michael Vartan movie. After checking all the choices, this movie seemed to be the logical choice of progression. It is the movie right after NBK and it is a romantic comedy. I must say Michael Vartan is fine in this movie, the city of New York is a great location, but there were definite challenges watching this movie. The main problem is in the script, some of the lines are laughable but in the wrong way. There were only a few moments when I could get into this film, it never captured me emotionally to get into the characters or to understand why the characters were feeling the way they were feeling. I think there should have been more development scenes for me to experience that. This is not the worst film ever made, how could it be with Michael Vartan in it. It simply could have been better than it was. The writer had some good ideas here but couldn't quite reach the goal. It had the faint reminders of "Serendipity" and "Sleepless in Seattle". I would only recommend this movie to those of us who simply need another Michael Vartan movie to experience.
jody3232 I'm a sucker for a good romance, but this one doesn't qualify as either good or a romance. I had the plot nailed down before the credits were through. With such poor dialog, plot and character development, I suggest investing your hour and a half elsehere. I had to rush out and rent Serendipity for the third time so I could get the bad taste of this one out of my mouth.
