Highly Overrated But Still Good

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

Most days, I've learned to avoid SyFy channel movies. Most are utter garbage . . . this one was pretty decent. Many of the reviews note the similarity with Twister, and there is some of that. They then added in a few of the standard themes of SyFy movies, mostly the pseudo-science that fills most of these types of films, whether done for release in the cinema or released straight-to-video/TV. Still, they mostly made the premise work in this one.The result was a engaging story with some pretty good (and some awful) FX. Most of the acting was pretty good, with Mark Moses and Ryan Kennedy providing strong performances. In conclusion, I would watch it again given the opportunity.

From director Stephen R. Monroe, Ice Twisters is that rare science fiction television movie that is both intelligent and extraordinarily well done. The production values are above average and the special effects quite good in this film. The script is sharp and insightful, focusing as much on characterizations as it does on horrific disaster. Some sequences are particularly unrelenting in their horror and may deeply disturb those unaccustomed to such intense realism. Mark Moses shines in the role of Charlie and it's truly some of his best work in years. Camille Sullivan is a standout in the supporting cast and her performance is nothing less than superb. This is an unusually stunning film in this genre and is ultimately quite satisfying indeed.

Just watched this movie on Sci-Fi. Although I rarely watch these movies for anything other than entertainment value this movie made me cringe. The overall bad acting was almost comical. I wonder if it was the fault of some very good actors like Ryan Kennedy or if it was the writing. It seems like the actors had no ability to change the wording of the script. That for me ruined the movie. I will say the CGI done in the movie was actually nice. I loved seeing the actual ice in the twisters. That made them more real. Overall though, I would only suggest watching this movie if you go into knowing the acting and I would stretch to say writing is horrible.

Worth A Watch!! This film does not fail to deliver, with action from the word go. I watched and was gripped the whole way through. Wondering what was going to happen next. Yes some parts were predictable, but in today's film industry, what film isn't? I will watch this film again and again, there are some great one-liners. I think this is a film that you need to watch to make your own decision as it will probably not appeal to everybody. The effects in the film were fantastic and allow you to really get a feel for what is going on in the movie, without potentially over-dramatising the action. The actors done a great job of portraying the events at hand and kept the movie believable throughout. Personally I loved this film and would recommend it to anyone.
