zardoz-13 If Domino Harvey's life were half as outlandish and audacious as Tony Scott's bizarre epic extravaganza "Domino," then this late bounty hunter must have lived life out in a blaze of glory. The daughter of late British film star Laurence Harvey, Domino was a peculiar doll. She lived at the zenith of opulence and his mother Sophie relocated to Beverly Hills where she landed another husband. Naturally, Domino turned into a peg that didn't fit into a square society. She didn't grow up like a princess searching for Prince Charming. She preferred to take the road less taken and taught herself how to use an arsenal of weapons. After she got expelled from college for breaking a sorority girl's nose, she sat in on a bounty hunter's seminar and became a skip tracer. Bail bondsman Claremont Williams (Delroy Lindo) and bounty hunters Ed Moseby (Mickey Rourke) and Choco (Edgar Ramirez) attempted to scam all the people who attended the seminar by slipping out the back door during a break and absconding with the $99 entrance fee. They manage to pull the wool over everybody's eyes except Domino who walked in front the car that Ed drove. The three of them became best friends forever. Afterward, everything unraveled with a vengeance that involved a group of wacky mafia teens, a group of Department of Motor Vehicle divas, and a treacherous, two-timing bail bondsman Claremont. Before everything is over, Domino and her friends find themselves the subject of a reality TV shop from the WB run by nutty producer Mark Heiss (Christopher Walken) who wants to put Domino under contract. Literally, scenarist Richard Kelly puts the plot that "Last Seduction" writer Steve Barancik and he concocted into a blender and you cannot really tell where this entertaining but convoluted nonsense is going half the time during its 127 minute careening, out of control story. The cast is top-notch with sculpturesque Keira Knightley cast as the real-life heroine who died shortly after filming was completed. You can catch a glimpse of the real Domino in the end credits.

jose_moscardo This movie had all the ingredients for being at least a correct action- drama film, if not a very exciting one: an interesting script inspired by the life of Domino Harvey, a real female bounty hunter and a fascinating character for a Hollywood story; a high budget; a cast full of talented and famous actors and actresses: Keira Knightley, Mickey Rourke, Edgard Ramirez, Delroy Lindo, Lucy Liu, Christopher Walken, Jacqueline Bisset, Dabney Coleman and so on.Then, what is the problem with it? The problem is Tony Scott and his hysterical, inopportune and always "over the top" way of directing. This is his trademark, his style, I know, but it sucks. Thanks to him, it's almost impossible to enjoy anything of this movie: you cannot enjoy the drama, you cannot enjoy the action, you cannot enjoy the actors... You just get annoyed, with your eyes tired and possibly a big headache.And it is really a pity because Domino could have been MUCH MUCH better if its deceased director wouldn't have been so obsessed in sacrificing the content for the sake of the form. By the way, a very wrong concept of what must be a movie in formal terms: a feature film should never be a video clip, what it works in three or four minutes becomes always an exhausting and irritating audiovisual experience in a length of two hours.

FlashCallahan Domino Harvey, daughter of film actor Laurence Harvey, is tired and unsuited to the pretentiousness of her high-society LA life, so she leaves the vanity behind, and sets off to become a bounty hunter. She falls under the wing of veteran hunter Ed Mosley and his crew, and becomes an unlikely natural in the art of bounty hunting. But things heat up when a masked gang steal the contents of an armoured car, and before long the mob, a crazed TV producer, the FBI and a terminally ill child have all got caught up in the situation....Tony Scott was an amazing film maker. Top Gun, Man On Fire, Déjà Vu to name a few. But wow, just like his Brother, he had a fair few stinkers under his belt. And this has to be right near the buckle.The film is bonkers, but not in a good way. It's all style and no substance, and although it looks all flashy and fresh, as soon as it tries to elaborate its narrative, it stinks rotten to the core.Knightley is okay, as is Rourke, but the rest of the cast seem lost, Walken is the special guest star and hams it up, making the film all the more laughable.It looks good, very good, but it tries too hard to be something different, and ruins it.Oh, and the real Domino appears right at the end, smiling.Guess she never saw the film.RIP

Maziun There is quite a lot of stars here : Keira Knightley ("Pirates of Caribbean " series) , Mickey Rourke ("Harry angel") , Brian Austin Green and Ian Ziering ("Beverly Hills 90210) , Lucy Liu ("Charlie's Angels) , Christopher Walken ("The Deer hunter") , Peter Jacobson ("House MD") , singer Macy Gray and TV-host Jerry Springer .There is no acting here, only posing. To be honest , the main reason I've decided to watch this movie was to see Knightley naked . I have to admit I was disappointed . The movie is rated R , yet we get only to see a lap dance (quite good) and one sex scene , where you can barely see her breasts . I have to admit that Knightley has one of the smallest breasts I have ever scene. Too bad. Such a pretty face, such a small breasts.The plot is about... God only knows . Is it a movie about a girl from affluent but dysfunctional background who grew to be a tough bounty hunter ? Is it a movie about big robber ? Is it a movie about a sad Afro-American woman on Jerry Springer show ? Is it a movie about media? What about all the other subplots : the crazy Afghani guy bent on liberating Afghanistan, the love story between Domino and Chocco, the mescaline episode, the FBI surveillance operation...The overall story had potential for thriller , but in the end characters action don't make sense like the rest of this movie. The story is completely discontinuous and confusing to watch. Certain aspects of the plot were ridiculous and totally unbelievable."Donnie Darko" was also written by Richard Kelly. It was chaotic , sure but made sense in the end anh was though provoking. This is just mess from one-hot wonder writer/director Kelly.Too much of flashy MTV style of editing. It looks cool at first , but quickly becomes annoying TO THE VERY END OF THE MOVIE.All style , no substance or sense . Tony Scott and Richard Kelly what have you done ? I give it 1/10. I would rather watch "Top gun" . Cheesy , but good product that was enjoyable and made sense. This ? This is pure trash.
