Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

Originally reading in some reviews that this movie was a terrible knock- off of Edgar Wright's terrific Zom-Com Shaun Of The Dead,I decided to at last pick up the super-cheap DVD,when I saw a short clip of the film, which made it look, that it was worth "becoming a sheep" and taking a look at the attack of the woolly jumpers. The plot:Returning 15 years after running away from his town due to the tragic death of his father, and also due to his brother (Angus Oldfield) killing Henry's much-loved pet sheep. (which led to Grant developing a phobia about being round sheep at all) Henry's decided to pay a final visit to the town,so that he can give his brother all of the rights to the family farm.Unknown to Henry,Angus has been secretly using the farm to genetically create the "ultimate Sheep".Attempting to throw their latest failed attempts away,Angus and his group of scientist are caught by surprise, when two Eco-warriors, (Grant and Expiriance) appear and run off with a half dead embryo, which soon leads to the residents of the sleepy village into transforming in a bunch of murderous, mutated sheep.View on the film:Along with Nathan Meister's sweet reluctant hero, and Peter Freeney pure boo-hiss villainy as Angus Oldfield, the cute Danielle Mason shines in every scenes she's in as over kooky,"Awe shucks" echo-warrior Expireance, who Mason does well at showing go from a pulling at heart strings Eco-warrior,into becoming a gun toting,Sheep killing machine!Whilst the movie does have an echo message at the centre of it,writer/director Jonathan King makes sure that "the message" never gets in the way of the terrific, hilarious gory laughs on offer.Showing the tremendous visual effects by Weta in their full blood & guts glory.King impressively makes sure that the "invasion" of the sheep never becomes boring by introducing a new element to the story at the perfect interval, from the Sheep suffering from a bad case of methane gas,to a savage and hungry An American Werewolf-inspired WereSheep.Sadly, after having used the first hour of the movie to build up to an epic man v monster Sheep final,King instead, unbelievably has the ending go to a painfully unfunny "and that's it" super-quick ending, which sadly puts a large stain on an otherwise far from sheepish Horror Comedy.

Delirious, energetic, over the top splatter comedy written and directed by Jonathan King, made in the style of early Peter Jackson. Likable Nathan Meister plays Henry Oldfield, who's been away from the family farm for years having developed a debilitating fear of sheep. Now he seeks closure and is selling his share of the farm to his older brother Angus (Peter Feeney), who, not content to do things the traditional way, has been messing around with genetics; a meddling environmentalist quickly causes a problem when a mutated embryo he's snatched ends up infecting other sheep and creating an onslaught of murderous mutton. "Black Sheep" is invigorating, priceless stuff that never misses a chance for a great gag. Undeniably, it's crude at times, but damn if it doesn't come up with fart jokes that are actually funny. The framework is all treated seriously - the gorgeous scenery & impressive cinematography, the pastoral setting, the wonderful music by Victoria Kelly - and as a result it makes the humour so utterly infectious. The gore is plentiful, with lots of innards and blood being tossed about; the creature and makeup effects by Jackson's WETA company are great fun to watch. Twisted moments (such as Angus's *beep*'d up sense of animal husbandry) and dark humour (when the mutating environmentalist Grant (Oliver Driver) chows down on an unfortunate bunny) are all part of the mix. Feeney is a deliciously smug villain, appealing and sexy Danielle Mason is hilarious as the deeply committed activist with the memorable moniker of "Experience", Tammy Davis supremely engaging as the easygoing Tucker, Tandi Wright a hoot as a mad scientist, and Glenis Levestam (who was actually in Jackson's "Braindead") a delight as feisty old Mrs. Mac. Even in light of all the outrageous shenanigans on display, the movie does make a case for the need for people to face their fears. The whole idea of seeing sheep, ordinarily such a placid species, turn so savage is a great hook to begin with, and there are some gut busting tag lines to go with this movie, which is incredibly well paced and ends on a true high note, with King and company paying tribute to killer animal movies of decades past. Not to be missed. Eight out of 10.

Disgusting, entertaining, lots of gore, cool mutant sheeps, and a deep message for modern society. I enjoyed "Black Sheep" because I took it for what it is: a fun movie that shouldn't be taken seriously. It offers violence, black humor and plenty of references to Horror movies (loved specially the "Night of the Living Dead" and "The Shining" tributes). It may not appeal for everyone but it surely ranks high on entertainment factors.Watch it and enjoy. It's mindless but gory fun.P.S. I love the blonde girl. She's dumb looking for that's my kind of girl.
