Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Salubfoto It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
gpeltz A goofy movie, that changes it's direction every fifteen minutes or so. The plot is so convoluted that by three commercial breaks in, I still had no idea where the story was heading. Ah, at last; Alien Invasion. Spoiler alert ahead. This movie, Age of Tomorrow (2014) was Directed by James Kondelik and written by Jacob Cooney and Bill Hanstock. It seemed to borrow from lots of other sci fi movies, Armageddon, and Stargate come to mind, as does War of the Worlds. Here we have the Father, played by Mat Mercer, looking for his Daughter in jeopardy, Lindsay played by Taylor Coliee, they connect throughout the movie, to the point of parody. Dad needs to bring in an Army to rescue her, but ends up solo anyway. The plot spins valiantly out of control for the last reel. The Aliens, looked rubbery. We learn that an ax is more effective than alien blaster against aliens. The flying orbs was the best the cgi crew could do with a limited budget eh? An odd observation here; The spilling of blood was subliminally enhanced making it oddly out of place in the context of this movie. The Queen monster, just wanted to share a cup of tea, and reveal her plans to the captain, yep. Don't expect a logical place to stop and give it a rest. This one seems to have a difficult time, figuring out where it wants to end. Four out of Ten hokey Stars.
mrohlee I watched the movie because Kelly Hu was top billed. She and Robert Picardo didn't have the most screen time but they actually had more then I expected. It starts quick and appears to be a remake of Armageddon as a giant rock is heading for the earth and a motley crew going to be sent to drill into the rock, plant charges and blow it up.Picardo is the ranking military man and Kelly Hu is a scientist who goes with the crew to the asteroid. Pieces of the asteroid start hitting the earth which leads to the 2nd plot where a firefighter who has a wayward daughter is trying to help stop the many fires breaking out.Things begin to twist as it's not an asteroid but a transport full of alien fighter drones and it switches to an Independence Day type movie complete with a rousing speech to the troops by General Picardo. Some people are being killed and others appear to be disintegrated. The firefighter now is trying to make it to his daughter while the alien drones start blasting people. There were a couple of good shots where someone (somewhat) unexpectedly gets their head blown off.It takes another twist as it turns out the people are actually being teleported to the alien homeworld and Kelly Hu and the team of rough necks make it there. They do a good low budget job of making the alien world look alien by odd colored plants. The budget is low and one of the things they saved some money on was to use some "alien" music from the 1950s-1960s but maybe it was a tongue in cheek homage. There are plenty of moments when you yell out oh-come-on but but normally they are things to advance the plot without raising the budget. There are more twists and I did enjoy the ending. Overall it was a fun time filler and it's certainly way more entertaining than the rating would suggest. One of the things that tells me is that the production company didn't pay anyone to post a bunch of positive reviews on sites like this. In fact some of the reviews seem to be trying to settle a score so maybe they were going to get a crew to do that and ran out of money so the professional reviewers turned on them. In any case don't be turned off by the low rating. The acting isn't the greatest and there is quite a contrast when Kelly Hu or Picardo are expressing emotion with their faces and the others have either blank expressions or look like they are feeling constipated. But there aren't any characters or actors that are real turn offs.If you are looking for some high budget effects and an all star cast this isn't for you. But if you can enjoy a low budget film with a decent story and good twists give it a try.
go_bwahh This movie is the worst. I do not recommend paying a single cent for this movie. Acting and special effects are horrible. I watched this for about 5 minutes and turned it off. It's like they made this movie in a month with a budget of $500,000 max! I would give this a movie below a 1 for a rating. Originally before I saw this movie I had really high expectations but it turned out being the worst movie I had ever seen after the 5 minutes of watching. There is not even 1 positive thing I can say about this movie. Most actors had the tone of they were reading from a script.-LOADS MORE NEGATIVITY-
YankeeDivision Well, overall it was not a tragic movie but at the same time it was not a great movie. I did like the story plot. The acting could have been more realistic. The actors are very talented but seemed to be without chemistry. I am going to pick on authenticity leaving the space stuff alone. The Generals uniform, wrong. To much insignia. Generals do not wear crossed rifles on the green army service uniform (out of date) ACU's needed some detailing, complete name tapes and left arm patch. The viewer was left wondering what unit / organization these soldiers belonged too. At one point we are told the Colonel was an air force pilot but was not in an air force uniform nor did we see any air force insignia. Details folks always complete the details and fade in the back story. The fire dept., LAFD is huge and works as a team. You would not find an engine company left to handle a fire by its self. I'm not going to address the ray guns… it's a Sci Fi movie. Long critique short, It could have been a Fantastic movie if details, articulation and a faster pace were adhered too.
