Spoonatects Am i the only one who thinks........Average?
Limerculer A waste of 90 minutes of my life
Calum Hutton It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
Abegail Noëlle While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
Nuz_Reviews No, not those crazy Michael Bay films. Although I enjoyed the first one at the theater, the second two I despised. Not a fan. Too many explosions and the story was driven by a human character and not the actually Autobots themselves.Network: SyndicatedOriginal Air Years: 1984-1987I wasn't even born before those original air dates, so like most of my cartoon shows, I saw them as re-runs. Cartoon Network was my channel of choice for this show.Transformers was nowhere near to having a solid plot-line, which I suppose does give justice to the lack of story in the real-life films. Nevertheless, this cartoon show emphasized the show part. Being based on Hasbro toys that had been around for about 23 years before it's debut, makers of this American show saw exuberant excitement in boys of every nationality, creed, and race. What boy doesn't wanna see ordinary objects that transform into man-like battling robots? I know I sure did! With so many toys like this one, The Transformers truly dominated this niche!
Kenn Ferguson The Transformers were a line of toys created by Hasbro in the 1980s for sale in the US. The TV show was part of an elaborate marketing campaign to promote the toys. (Like G.I.Joe and others) SPINOFFS: This was the first in a LONG line of spin-offs including series like Transformers Energon, Beastwars, Transformers Armada, and others, including a live-action/CGI movie in 2007 (not to be confused with an animated movie that is consistent with this story line). Some of those other series use characters from this series, sometimes they are new characters. The live-action CGI movie bares no resemblance to the animated show. It features some new characters, some of which have the same name as characters from the cartoon, but are featured differently. There is very little continuity between the different series. Because this was the first it is informally called Transformers Generation 1. These series are incredibly popular in Japan but have dwindled in popularity in the US.TECHNICALLY: It was an animated show filled with technical errors. Simple things like using the wrong voices for certain characters, painting a character the wrong color, or adorning a Decepticon logo to an Autobot character and vice versa. There were more serious technical glitches as well; including storyline problems like when/who created Megatron; one episode depicts him being built by the Constructicons, and one states that he created them. The first season of the show featured several robots, but the second season starting adding more without explaining where they came from. And other errors featured flashbacks to pre-Earth days but depicted the robots in Earth disguises even though they were not supposed to get those until they reached Earth. The list of errors is endless.PLOT: The general plot of the story featured the peaceful Autbots battling the military Decepticons. In a war on their home planet of Cybertron the two factions depleted their supplies of energy and left in search of more sources so that they could claim their homeworld.SEASONS: Before Season 3 an animated movie was released in theaters which advanced the timeline of the show to 2010, and hence Season 3 has been informally called Transformers 2010. Season 4 is not really a season, but a 3 part episode that could have continued the series in a new direction (like S3 did after S2) but the show faded away.SALES: Currently (as of Mar 1 2008) DVDs of the show are difficult to find. New copies of the show from US sources are extremely rare. Most new purchases are Chinese imports.2007 MOVIE:
Terryfan The Transformers are the greatest cartoon show of all-time.The Transformers had an awesome storyline with The Heroic Autobots Lead by Their Leader: Optimus Prime!! battling The Evil Decepticons Lead by Their Leader: Megatron.Transformers were the perfect example of Good Vs. Evil. The Show had Awesome stories and great action. Here are my all-time favorite Transformers Autobots: Optimus Prime, Jazz, Bumblebee, The Dinobots, Springer, Cliffjumper, Hound, Tracks, Smokescreen, Hoist, Prowl, Mirage, The Arielbots, Beachcomber, Seaspary, Ironhide, Trailbreaker, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Warpath, Skyfire, and Blaster.Decepticons:Megatron, Soundwave, Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Starscream, Thundercracker, Blitzwing, Mixmaster, and The Combaticons.Optimus Prime,In my opinion The Greatest Good Guy of all-time, Optimus Prime is everything that a true leader/Hero should be: Brave, Fearless, Caring, will help the innocents in need, Fights for what is right, Will stop at nothing to beat the forges of evil.Megatron in my opinion, the greatest villain of all-time, Megatron is Cold, Mercyless, and Danger, Megatron give a new meaning to the word Evil. This show is bad to the bone.Transformers Will always be The Number Greatest TV Show And The Greatest Toys of all time.Check this show out.Optimus Prime: Autobots, Transform and Roll Out!!!!!
lee-437 I love Transformers! As a matter of fact, i've grown up with it since I was 5 years old.The Autobots are the good guys and the Decepticons are the bad guys like the leaders are complete opposites. Optimus Prime is a father figure to his fellow Autobots like his Security Chief Ironhide, the mad scientist Wheeljack, the medic Ratchet, and his right hand men Jazz and Prowl and cares for every one of them as well as making friends with Spike Witwicky and his father Sparkplug. Later in the series, Spike gets romantically involved with Carly and eventually in the movie they are married with a boy called Daniel. The Decepticon leader Megatron is a tyrant hellbent on conquering the universe but also a rational leader too, because he has a treacherous second in command called Starscream trying usurp him as the leader of the Decepticons. Then in Season 2, it's the same Autobot/Decepticon struggle with some new sub-groups like the Protectobots, Combaticons, Aerialbots and Stunticons. Then in post-movie Season 3 there's a new threat in the shape of the Quintessons who were the creators of all the Transformers. There's new leaders on both sides like Rodimus Prime who is unsure if he will measure up to Optimus Prime who was killed in the movie. Also the new Decepticon leader Galvatron is nothing like Megatron, power-crazed and insane due to exposure to lava plasma on the planet Thrull and both commanders have a loyal second in command. With the Autobots there's Ultra Magnus who has a straight forward attitude to Rodimus Prime's cavalier and carefree attitude and with the Decepticons there's Cyclonus who has a strict but honourable attitude towards his enemies.Absolute Science-fiction classic!!
