Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Catangro After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Tyreece Hulme One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
UofSciFi I watched this show regularly every Saturday Morning in the late 70's . I looked forward to seeing every Saturday. It was one of my favorite TV shows as a kid. I was too young at the time to notice the low budget production aspects of it and too young to care. Once the TV show went off the air, this character completely disappeared from comic/superhero book culture and I never understood why. I can remember in the 80's and 90's telling people about my memories of this show and no one seemed to remember it or even have heard of it. However a few decades later and thanks to the miracle of YouTube, one night for giggles I thought I would search for it, and to my everlasting surprise, I discovered that all 22 episodes were available for free viewing on YouTube. It was at that time that I binge watched the first 10 or so episodes back to back. It was the first time sine the late 1970's that I had seen this any of this series that I remembered so fondly from my childhood.First off, I didn't remember the actress playing Isis (JoAnna Cameron) being that beautiful. She is absolutely stunningly gorgeous. Secondly, I had no memory of this show being was so campy. Thirdly, The low budget really shows in every episode. Fourtly, there really is no real action scenes in this show (for some reason I thought I remember seeing Isis fighting bad guys... but those memories must've been false memories because Isis does a whole lot of nothing in this series. The Character is played out as being more of a flying sorceress than she is a superhero. Fifthly, I didn't remember Shazam/Captain Marvel being in so many of these episodes. I guess I had this expectation that I was going to rediscover something that I loved from my childhood in the late 1970's. But what I got was a reality that wasn't anywhere near as good as I remembered as a child. But it does have some redeeming qualities to it, such as JoAnne Cameron being so beautiful (and looking very good in that short skirt). Each episode tries to tell a moral story. Overall this show is well below average But I am glad to see that the new TV series "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" brought the Isis character back ((( but DC changed the name of the character from Isis to Zari because the name "Isis" has become associated with middle east terrorist groups in recent years.
Theo Robertson Always know your enemy has been part of my mindset . You're travelling to the Middle East then how better to educate yourself than watching a documentary about THE SECRETS OF ISIS which will inadvertently give away their weaknesses in amongst their shallow propaganda . Wow these mass murdering terrorists really know how to big themselves up . As the titles start anyone finding "This amulet you and your descendants are endowed by the Goddess Isis . With the powers of the animals and elements . You will fly with the falcons , run with the speed of gazelles and command the elements of sky and Earth" Well who said propaganda has to be truthful in anyway ? Especially if it's being spouted by religious maniacs I started to get a bit confused when "A young science teacher dug up the amulet and found she was heir to the secrets of Isis" . Let me get this straight 1) She's a woman 2) She's in to science Both of these points would get you murdered in the Caliphate but I guess if you're making a propaganda video to stick on youtube then it's probably best to downplay the negative aspects like summary execution and sexual slavery and if you've a cute career woman as your poster girl then potential Jihadis will jump to conclusion that they've a ready made wife waiting for them in the Caliphate . Seems a bit hypocritical that she's allowed to walk around semi naked while the rest of her sisterhood are under a jackboot that makes Il Duce look like a libertarian anarchist combined with Emily Pankhurst in comparison It seemed that the makers of this propaganda haven't gone very far to make their videos . It looks like it was filmed in California somewhere with a multi-ethnic cast who all speak English , but hey they're sugar-coating what is a war where they've alienated the entire Muslim world against them . I did get a wee bit confused by things like American police cars appearing but I guess the Arabs left them behind same as they left all their other American equipment and vehicles when they deserted in 2013 It wasn't until seeing several episodes of this dire , patronising , family fare that the penny dropped that this was nothing to do with the so called Islamic State and was a rival to WONDER WOMAN except even worse . Can we all stop referring to the terrorist organisation as ISIS and call them "Daesh" roughly translated from the Arab acronym "Those that cause trouble and disconcern" . If we do that means I wouldn't have wasted a morning watching this rubbish .
Brian Washington Just like Shazam, Isis was another in the series of Saturday morning television series that was overly preachy about right and wrong. In this one, a high school science teacher finds an amulet that gives her the ability to turn into the Egyptian goddess Isis who each week uses her powers to get stupid teenagers out of dangerous situations and help them learn a valuable lesson at the end. I prefer my super heroes to be involved in knock down drag em out fights, than to have them rescue me and teach me a valuable life lesson. That was the problem with Saturday morning television in the 1970's because it tried to be too relevant and overly preachy.
raysond I remember this show like it was yesterday;a modern day high school teacher that see trouble coming and goes into a room has a secret ring on her finger and says,"Oh,mighty Isis!" and changes into a Egyptian princess named Isis with superpowers who helps out kids who get into trouble and fights off evil doers. It came on Saturday Mornings around 10:00am and I can remember this show being on. This was a dynamite show to watch by the way since it only was on for two seasons and went right off the air(and its reruns) for much of the decade(as part of the Shazam/Isis Hour). However, there was Isis who comes out at the end of the show to give a message or two about certain things(which became part of a Filmation staple and a big winner during its run on CBS). The series lasted two seasons on Saturday Mornings from September 6, 1975 until October 23, 1976 and it produced 22 episodes where CBS repeated it entirely until 1979 when it was combined "The Shazam-Isis Hour". Since the show's star was a fashion model before she became an actress,Joanna Cameron was a knockout to watch as Isis. She was beautiful. By the way, whatever happened to her after that? After her stint as "Isis" Joanna Cameron went on to star in the short-lived series based on "Spider-Man",and from there was a guest star in several television shows until she retired from show business and Hollywood altogether in the 1980's. Today, she does public appearances but she left Hollywood for the hotel marketing business based in Hawaii.Revised on July 8, 2015
