V/H/S/2 Trailers

Inside a darkened house looms a column of TVs littered with VHS tapes, a pagan shrine to forgotten analog gods. The screens crackle and pop endlessly with monochrome vistas of static white noise permeating the brain and fogging concentration. But you must fight the urge to relax: this is no mere movie night. Those obsolete spools contain more than just magnetic tape. They are imprinted with the very soul of evil.

CommentsXp Best movie ever!
KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Roy Hart If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
will_jaros This movie is only about nudity and sexual assault. Disgusting, terrible and in no way okay. There are scenes of sexual assault and rape. It is seen that this movie is completely based around fully graphical nudity and assault and shouldn't be watched or supported by anyone.
deltora34 I gave the first V/H/S a 6/10 and referred to it as very uneven and having more misses than hits. This one, however, is much better and I actually enjoyed a majority of the film.If I were to rate the segments:Tape 49/frame narrative - I never really care for the wrap-around stories in these films. This one was no different, although i did find it better than the wrap-around in the first one. 6/10Phase I Clinical Trials - In my opinion, this is the strongest short in the film. Although one of the others may be more professionally made this is the scariest and my favourite. 9/10A Ride in the Park - A really unique idea that is quite entertaining, but becomes a bit gimmicky and doesn't have a good enough payoff. 7/10Safe Haven - Probably the best segment in terms of film-making, although not as scary as "Phase 1 CLinical Trials" for me. It's the longest, but I was never bored at any point and got pretty freaked out watching it. The ending could have been better, but apart from that it's great. 9/10Slumber Party Alien Abduction - The kids are super annoying. The special effects and sound design and everything are great though. The ending was a bit anti-climactic, but it's still an entertaining watch. 6.5/10
barfmasta At first glance, the film seemed somewhat slightly clichéd - with the two people at the start investigating a trashed (ish) house, and the eerie sounds and atmosphere, i wasn't sure if I expected a twist in the blade kinda film where it all ridiculously escalated into a grim video slideshow of gore, guts and some boob or a lengthy shitty fail of a film that focused on shock thrill in a cheap and immature manner. The film is focused on a series of tapes that relate to each other in a variety of ways, so watching the whole thing properly is definitely a help. The angle technique is one of a 3d kind of view, shots of characters filming come in various angles throughout the film, with the stuttering and eventual distorted sound of the audio made for each sequence. The actual film is bizarre, gory, nasty and sometimes a little humorous (in a sick way) depending on your horror tolerance, so for a film in the genre of found footage horror and gore focused violence, it's really a perfect representation of what a modern horror of that kind should be like. It is artistic from an effects point of view, some of it like the minotaur style/whatever monster chasing the cameraman, is completely ridiculous but nevertheless very entertaining and varied throughout the vast majority of the picture.Rating this you have to remember it's a horror with strong elements of gory bloody violence, so on that front i'd give it a 7.5 for it's thoroughly entertaining and (at times) completely absurd violence, and for its variety of events managing to lock into each other toward the finish.
svartamoln First of all I want to say that unlike the first movie whose cameras moved a lot, this one is not that annoying due to there was a better job filming the tapes, not like a professional but like a good amateur. Said this I want to add that the whole idea is quite interesting and realistic at times knowing it is just a movie (found-footage films are always a good way to make you think you are inside the movie). If the previous one was good, this was just great and I got scared a lot. It's not very common that a second part of a movie is better then the first but you've got this. The first tape was the tape I least liked but it was good after all, must admit I got scared a little despite the fact I don't like ghost very much, besides there were certain things that didn't have any sense but it got its purpose which is to make me scared. The second tape was interesting but didn't scare me and I doubt that zombies can do so, but it was good to see a zombie attack by the perspective of the same zombie. After the first two tapes things get better, the third tape was really but really great, original, bloody, insane, disturbing and all you can imagine. I really enjoyed watching this tape and it is probably better than any other tape showing in the first V/H/S, in fact it could have had its own movie because the idea was fantastic. And finally the fourth tape, the most disturbing, annoying (in a good way) and scariest of all. I'm sure you won't agree with me, but I must confess that any kind of extraterrestrial being scares the hell out of me. I never imagined this tape was about aliens, actually when I realized so I had to turn the lights on because I was very scared. This tape was funny at first and that relaxed me a lot but after a few minutes things got worse, the aliens were very aggressive and didn't seem to be super smart and that's disturbing and reminded me a story I heard once on a Spanish TV show, this tape definitely got its purpose because I was terrified watching this part of the movie.I'm glad after the result, a good movie and I hope I can sleep well tonight, I totally recommend this movie.
