Tyson Trailers

Director James Toback takes an unflinching, uncompromising look at the life of Mike Tyson--almost solely from the perspective of the man himself. TYSON alternates between the controversial boxer addressing the camera and shots of the champion's fights to create an arresting picture of the man.

Reviews
Alicia I love this movie so much
Interesteg What makes it different from others?
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Sameer Callahan It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
dmitrylitvinovsky I gave this 8/10 because it's a pretty simple, straightforward documentary and there isn't much "drama" in it i would say. With that being said, i personally don't care much about the drama when it comes to documentaries, and am more interested in the truth. The simple truth. And thankfully that is exactly what you get from the legendary Mike Tyson.Mike Tyson is so honest in this documentary that it is impossible, at least for me, to pass any judgment on him, or his life. One must be pretty sightless to not see that. He generously shares his innermost fears, desires, demons and what not, which is not an easy thing to do, and i believe every word he says.Mike Tyson is an animal shaped human. He accepts who he is. As a child going into adulthood he obviously was some sort of a beast out of a cage that trapped him for years, add to that the profession of boxing he was going into, now that's not a simple place to be for a teen giving his background of zero education. He's not trying to be the nicest, nor be loved by everyone. He's just trying to do the best he can and learn as much as he can. HE IS HONEST about who he is. And that's the whole point about my review. I can appreciate that honesty, maybe that's because i too have zero tolerance for BS.Mike Tyson is not perfect, he's just an honest human being dealing with life.
richieandsam TYSON THE MOVIEOK, so this is more of a documentary than a movie, but it was still released in the cinemas and it is called Tyson the Movie, so I thought I would review it.This is a documentary about the legendary former heavyweight boxing champion, Iron Mike Tyson.Mike Tyson has has a very interesting life. He isn't really a nice person as we have seen during various moments in his public life. There are times when he comes across as a nice guy, but there are a lot of times where he is just scary. The man is a huge powerhouse which a crazy amount of strength. I would not like to get on the wrong side of this guy. But his boxing career is nothing to be sniffed at. He is and always will be a legend in his chosen occupation. This film interviews Mike about his life and career. He talks about all the highs and lows of what he has been through. Yes he has had a rough life. He was always in the spotlight in and out of the ring. The film was shot quite well, he covers everything that would want to hear him talk about, from his boxing life, his rape trial, the infamous bite to when he retired altogether. It is very interesting to hear his side of things, but with all stories, there are obviously 2 sides and this only tells his side of things.Mike was an unbelievable boxer that I loved to watch and still love to go back and watch again and again. He was mesmerizing with the power and skill he had... he knocked out some of the best boxers in the world within a couple of rounds. It is very rare to have a talent like that in any sport. His personal life is not really any of our business, but when he got convicted of rape I was shocked. There is no excuse for what he did, even though he still denies it to this day. But Mike has done his time and it is time everyone just let it lie and stop mentioning it to him or anyone else. I saw on live TV the other day someone mentioned it to him and he started swearing at the interviewer. I am so glad I was no the guy interviewing him then.I really enjoyed hearing his stories of his arguments with Don King and various other people when he was young. He tells a great story and as far as I can see doesn't hold back. The only thing I can say that I thought ruined this film a little bit was it felt rushed a lot of the time. There was not a lot of time on any subject of his life. The stories were good but very brief and I would have liked Mike to go into more detail about some of adventures in his life. This is very entertaining and if you are a boxing fan, this is a must watch. Mike comes across as sometimes mad, but I think he is just misunderstood and if you sit down and try and connect with him I think everyone would understand him a lot more... if he lets you.I will give this 7 out of 10."In a fight, in the streets, not like the ring, it has to be almost to the death because you never know. If you don't knock them out cold or you don't him half to death, he'll go home and come back with a gun or come back with a friend with a gun, or gang of people. Normally a fight on the street is deadly"For more reviews, please like my Facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ordinary-Person-Movie- Reviews/456572047728204?ref=hl
meeza Director James Toback's insightful documentary "Tyson" does not pull back any punches on the controversial & eventful life of former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson. The uppercut of this doc is that it investigates its subject matter solely featuring none other than Tyson himself. No one else besides Mike Tyson is featured in documentary disclosures throughout the flick. Tyson is not chicken to disclose his feelings on his contentious life including his: impoverished childhood, boxing mentor, rise to the top, rape conviction, prison experience, Buster downfall, "eary" cannibal craving, drug addiction, and a few more Tysonisms. Toback does not orchestrate the film as a 90-minute Tyson confession to glamorize Mike, but rather as an authentic perspective on a man whose self-centered behaviors knocked him down physically, mentally, and emotionally. The Mike Tyson bio footage revealed throughout the documentary accentuates Mike's revelations of his life. The film does not present Tyson in an altered state but in more of a self-realization state. Nevertheless, "Tyson" make you root for Mike Tyson to win the game of life, even through all its technicalities. Lesson of it all: "don't be like Mike" and Iron Mike is the first one to say it in this doc! My unanimous decision is that the documentary "Tyson" does deserve its viewing rounds. And that is no raging bulls*it! **** Good
Dalazen_Junior This is the kind of honest, truthful portrayal that gives a whole new light toward the way you see a certain person. I know that some people have a strong opinion on Tyson, but I always saw past that bullying thing of his persona and recognize much, much more. Now at the age of 43, Tyson shares his life story in this revealing documentary from director James Toback. With age comes wisdom, not only for Tyson, but for everybody. It's a fact that time brings everything to light, and we can see things better. I shed some tears because I felt Tyson's pain. I understood that although it is so easy to judge, it's also way harder to put yourself in someone else's shoes. This documentary made me respect him (Tyson) even more, because if we as human being are in fault, what's way more important than to make mistakes is the capacity of being humble, admit the mistakes and move toward better days. Mike Tyson ins an insightful, humble, simple man, who was plain and simple the world's greatest boxer and is now in his most important mission in life - to succeed as a human being and a father. His best days are still ahead of him,and he is a living example of what we can make of ourselves, once we have the knowledge and the wisdom to become better men,a wisdom that only comes when we had our share of wrong choices. Bravo, Iron Mike!
