Ezmae Chang This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Eric Stevenson This was based on a TV show shown on Adult Swim and it wasn't a cartoon. I guess that technically, Adult Swim isn't quite the same as Cartoon Network. I know that a lot of people liked this show and it has a 7.4 here. I for one hated it and thought it was obnoxious with bad acting. This movie is in turn a good representation of the film. The plot is that Tim and Eric make a billion dollar movie that lasts only three minutes. They than have to raise a billion dollars by opening up a mall. I admit that I do like that setup for the movie and it has a nice twist ending, but it's mostly stupid. There's a scene where a guy is submerged in diarrhea and another where they show a guy's prosthetic penis being pierced. That's really all you need to know about this film. I'm sure these guys are nice in real life, but they're bad actors here with annoying voices. These characters themselves are jerks. *1/2
xhearto I wanted to sign in tonight to give this movie 10 stars, then realized I already had. Pretty proud of myself. How could these guys get Chef Goldblum, the guy who was Ben Linus's boss on Lost, Ron Burgundy, Macgruber,Dewey Cox, The Snuggler, the amazingly psychotic Leland Palmer, the guy from The Room,Saul, & the coach from Necessary Roughness to be in the same movie? by being unbelievably funny.Btw Steve Brule deserved an Oscar for this one. It's certainly rough, but ultimately it will be the last of it's time. it's one final, awkwardly offensive salvo against the coming of the New "Look how shish I am " interMedia & the 3 minute TV show. Thanks for going there." you know, they probably forgot about the billion dollars."
zeroangelshadow this movie was just Awful, I wasted my time watching it, I use to watch Tom goes to the Mayor. and I could stand that. After watching this.. I want my time back. I'm glad it was free on netflix at the time of this review.I won't suggest anyone to watch this trainwreck, there was too many scenes that didn't make sense. And not even funny. They tried way to hard to be funny. And they just weren't. They were done with Acting before this movie even came out.I pray there isn't gonna be another junk film by these 2.How they got other actors? Is beyond me. I'd like to know myself. this actually ruined me watching anything else from them. Ever. And I watch so much crap on netflix.. Yet this has to be one of the worst movies i've seen.. Even most b Movies are funnier than this pile of garbage.
zetes Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim have been the kings of underground comedy for the past several years. Their style is usually referred to as anti-comedy, which pretty much means that their comedy is funny precisely because it's just so unfunny. I don't really buy into that description, simply because I do find their work funny. It's awkward as Hell and entirely bizarre, and it just doesn't work for most people. And, yes, I find the fact that so many people don't get it - and get so damned angry that they don't get it - highly amusing, but that's not the only reason I enjoy them. Hollywood producer Tommy Schlaaang (Robert Loggia - God knows if he's in on the joke or not, but he's hilarious in the movie) has given the duo a billion dollars to make a movie, and the result is a three minute short starring Johnny Depp (or rather an impersonator - everyone swore it was really Depp!) wearing a suit made entirely out of diamonds. Loggia and his assistant William Atherton (the reporter from Die Hard) demand that they be paid back, and the opportunity to make a billion dollars comes in the unlikely form of Will Ferrell, who insists that he'll pay anyone a billion dollars if they are able to reform his run-down mall. Tim and Eric go to the mall, which resembles a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and apply to be its new PR team. The plot is, of course, ramshackle nonsense and the film feels very much like the work of a sketch comedy team, but I have no problem with that as long as it's funny. And I thought it was damn hilarious. Sure, there are bits and pieces that miss, but I laughed - and hard - through the great majority of it. Other famous participants include John C. Reilly, Jeff Goldblum, Will Forte and Zach Galifianakis. This is easily my favorite comedy of 2012, but it's a hard one to recommend, since some people get downright murderous when they watch anything by Tim and Eric.
