The Year of Spectacular Men Trailers

In the year after graduating college, Izzy struggles to navigate the seemingly incessant failures of adulthood, the reality of a substandard dating pool and a debilitating fear of top-sheets, all in between X-Files marathons. Comically unsuccessful in love over the course the year, including five half-hearted relationships with astoundingly self-centered men, Izzy resigns herself to the support of her mother and sister, who are struggling with their own relationship problems. Seeing herself in them, Izzy gradually gains the confidence to be honest and vulnerable.

Reviews

Patience Watson One of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Philippa All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
jacquilangton The film has some poor reviews on this page. I imagine a story written about a young woman and finding oneself is not going to appeal to everyone. This film is female driven and there is a big market for that out there. The main actors are endearing and the story of being lost and confused would be relatable to many. The fact that three of the main characters were family made this feel warm and authentic. The second act which becomes more about family than about men was my favourite. Recommend this for anyone who likes films made by hand, with a good soundtrack and a few good laughs.
adonis98-743-186503 Story of Izzy Klein, a young woman fresh out of college as she strikes up and ruins relationships with several men, and struggles to navigate the failures of post-college adulthood, leaning on her mother and older sister for support. The Year of Spectacular Men is being described as a comedy drama and i'm just sitting here trying to find where any of those 2 were? This was definitely not funny or even dramatic, the story was pretty boring and i have seen it in like 50 other movies in the past 3 years and the acting wasn't that great either. And despite the 'family affair' it just didn't do it for me despite a good and interesting cast of actors who can act when they want to. (0/10)
hodeslily I'm a huge fan of Zoey Deutch, and when I heard that she was doing a film with her family I couldn't wait to see it. When I finally did see I was not disappointed. The journey that Izzy goes through of trying to make something of herself while trying to find out who she is, while also dealing with the hardships of the relationships she finds herself in is very relatable. Izzy and Sabrina also show that no matter what you do, you family will always be there. I loved this film and it is defiantly worth the money
James Gunter While i applaud Zoey for throwing a bone to her entire family, Mama should've contributed to her retirement fund and stopped after Back To The Future, and her sister could easily be gainfully employed at Home Depot! ...this one just missed the mark all together.... If any of the Thompson / Deutch family members read this and feel compelled to refund my $5.99 just message me for my Paypal address
