The Omega Man Trailers

Due to an experimental vaccine, Dr. Robert Neville is the only human survivor of an apocalyptic war waged with biological weapons. Besides him, only a few hundred deformed, nocturnal people remain - sensitive to light, and homicidally psychotic.

Reviews
Kattiera Nana I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
preppy-3 A biological plague has wiped out most of the population. However some were infected and did not die but became psychotic killers who can't stand light and call themselves the Family. Army doctor Robert Neville (Charlton Heston) is immune to the plague and has to fight the Family every night who want to kill him. He meets others like him but they might turn into killers also. Can he find a cure and convince the Family he can cure them?OK semi-adaptation of "The Last Man on Earth". Heston is good and Rosalind Cash (may she RIP) pops up halfway through and she's great. Also Anthony Zerbe is convincing as the head of the Family. All in all it's very OK but pretty forgettable.
Tom mix Lets just move back to 1971 when this movie was made. In 1971 I guess people did enjoy this film but in 2017 this looks very dated and full of flaws and goofs.I spent more time finding goofs and flaws then watching the movie because it is so bad I don't have words or know where I should start. In the opening of the movie when he drives around in this city guess it is N.Y. In one scene you can see a another car driving up the street..... and he was supposed to be the only man living, before they cut back to heston in the car.In a scene a stand in drives his motor cycle with a bad wig.Oh well forget this movie.
alexanderdavies-99382 "The Omega Man" will always stand as one of Charlton Heston's greatest films and also for being the best adaptation of the Richard Matheson book, "I Am Legend." This film has great dialogue as well as action. The music by Ron Grainer is outstanding and worthy of inclusion in anyone's music collection. As with the previous film adaptation, "The Omega Man" conveys a genuine sense of isolation and unease. As Colonel Robert Neville, Charlton Heston has had to endure a life as the only human being who is completely immune to the effects of disease that was caused by Germ Warfare. By day, he hunts and stalks the mutants who bear the effects of the war that destroyed the world. By night, Neville retreats to his fortified home on the top floor of an apartment block and prepares to protect himself from his mutated pursuers. The film makes a bold statement about the real looming threat of Nuclear weapons and of the incalculable devastation they would leave in their wake. As a result of this, "The Omega Man" can't really be passed off or considered to be a film of escapism. To some film fans, Charlton Heston's acting style can be of a slightly acquired taste. He does alright in this film though. "The man of action" approach is the correct one. Anthony Zerbe is magnificent as the psychopathic leader of the mutants. He has very good diction, he alternates between being deceptively calm and angry very well and is totally believable. Paul Koslo - usually a bit of an irritating you-know- what - actually plays a very affable and honest character for a change. I will go so far as to state that he is cast against type! Rosalind Cash makes for a good and tough leading lady who knows how to survive. I first saw "The Omega Man" on video back in 1993 and was immediately intrigued as soon as I glanced at the video sleeve. A classic 1970s American movie and a classic of Science Fiction.
mariapapaya It is a classic good vs evil movie, light vs darkness.Simple movie, easy watch.Based on every detail, concerning decors, objects in the rooms, clothing, the hat in the end with the bay leaves around that Heston wore, being a doctor, the infected, every little detail leads to the brutalities that Christianity did to the Hellenistic world and gradually sunk world into darkness.Fanaticism of the infected, denying progress and science, the apple of Adam.Knowledge is a sin.Lets not forget that the first Christians were extremely brutal, skinning people alive and destroying everything, in a much larger scale than what the Islamic State did the last years in Middle East. This is depicted in the movie, as they destroy in the end his house. All in all, not a bad movie, nothing special as well, easy watch.
