SparkMore n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

He is known both for the greatness of his works and his antiquated views on conquest and imperialism. However, this movie really shows itself as just not outdated but fitting to the time it was set in, and it delves deep into the follies of man.Many men thought it wise to subjugate and manipulate men less cunning than themselves; this movie shows how two men can fall into that trap and the price they pay.

AlexanderExtazy One of the best movies I recently watched.. and I watched it again the week after because I couldn't get enough.From being a lover of historic movie settings; I assumed this movie had great potential by reading the synopsis and damn well I was right !A strong story of friendship, loyalty, ambition, and the will to seek out the "Greater"... Sean Connery & Michael Caine performed this film very well. I could vouch that this is the best movie they had done together.The entire setting of British Raj era India is terrific. Back then, India wasn't too population, and the whole setting appeared as beautiful as any overseas colony. (That coming from someone who adores colonial era settings).Apart from that, the long hours you will watch will fill you with absolute entertainment as it did to me!

Fluke_Skywalker John Huston's adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's 'The Man Who Would Be King', with its stereotypical natives and romanticized imperialism, certainly won't win any awards for political correctness, but Michael Caine and Sean Connery's jaunty and charming performances make you forget that their characters and their deeds are rather despicable.For much of its runtime 'The Man Who Would Be King' plays a bit like a Bing Crosby/Bob Hope road pic. It's not until the best laid plans go astray in the third act that we see the story more clearly for what it is; a tragedy of ego and greed and the brotherhood between deeply flawed men with a seemingly incongruous sense of honor.
