Technotise: Edit and I Trailers

Belgrade, 2074. Edit Stefanović, a psychology student, after failing the same university exam for the sixth time, decides to visit a dealer on the black market who installs a stolen military chip in her body that will record everything she sees to help her pass the exam. Edit also has a job at a scientific and social research company, in taking care of Abel Mustafov, an autistic math genius who discovered a formula that connects all forces in the world, but no computer was able to calculate it fully without becoming self-aware and shutting down immediately after that. After Edit sees the formula graph, the chip calculates the formula, and becomes able to "survive" thanks to its connection to Edit. It develops a parallel personality and affords her abilities greater than she ever imagined.

ActuallyGlimmer The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
filippaberry84 I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Cassandra Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
kosmasp But totally different, because it is animated. There is still graphic nudity in it, if you'll excuse the pun, but that is not what the movie is about. It's about life and the future. Future in a literal way (this plays in 2074 or something and metaphorical, as in where do we go after our visit on this planet. The science fiction part of it, really does work, as does the thriller part of the movie. I was quite surprised to see such a greatly developed movie come out of Serbia. Seems like they are trying to get on that film map, which I consider a good thing. Always nice to have good new "players" when it comes to movies. This should be a start into an interesting new era of Serbian filmmaking one can hope.
Crveni Krst As a big fan of animation, I eagerly awaited to see this first Serbian animated film. Did "Edit i Ja" deliver? Well it depends...Aleksa Gajic is a young and gifted animator who is present in Serbian manga community for a while. I liked his work before and after seeing the first trailer in 2007, it looked like a promising project. Indeed it was decent from a animators point. Some said that the solid basic drawing wasn't reproduced in a animation cycle properly, and that the whole film looks more like an flash app. It's pretty true, however, considering this is the first kind of such a project in Serbian cinematography, I think it looks pretty OK, and the visual team can undoubtedly get all the credits. It is nowhere close to a Japanese anime, but even that took decades to evolve into a level we all know and take for granted. "Edit i ja" has a lot of potential for further evolution. Story, a fiction fantasy from a futuristic Belgrade is also a bright spark of this anime. A girl bonds with an implant chip which begins to awaken and become a living entity. However, the good impression made by the visuals and the story was ureutterly ruined by a horrible voice over recordings. In an animated film, the voice plays one of the key roles, since it gives a soul to characters involved. With a few exceptions, the voice crew ruined this promising title. I don't know whether the production team paid them low fees, or it's just the fact they are bad orators, the team made up of more or less famous actor cast sounded like a bunch of people dragged in from the street, with very little motivation and placed in front of the mike. No enthusiasm what so ever. So, overall, "Edit i ja" remains a good attempt which has a lot of further potential. Still, it could and should have been better.
devolucija This movie is absolutely stunning. The animation is superb, the voice acting is epic, the story is great and the mood and depiction of the future are unbelievably well done. The little details like an old man reading the obituaries in the newspaper, but using a large switch on the end of the paper to switch between pages, or the witty banter exchange that spices up a long dialog exchange, these are the things that draw one in.I was rooted in my armchair from start to finish. Since I'm "local" in a way, I understood the dialog, and I can honestly say the English translation does it no justice (I had English subs on, just to see how they translated it) - if you know someone with Balkan roots, watch it with them and have them explain the moments when you see them burst into laughter - there are no titles that can translate some of the insults or jokes. As they say - translation is like a woman. If it's beautiful, it's not faithful. If it's faithful, it's most definitely not beautiful. All in all, please watch this movie - it is worth every second of your time and then some. This borders on some of the best anime's I've ever seen, right up there with Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop.
LeoHatvani This movie shows that even a small animation studio can do excellent animation and create wonderful full length animated movies. The only downside of this movie is that it contains many local references. To understand all of the subtle jokes and some more obvious ones, one should be well versed in the culture of Belgrade and contemporary situation. But even then, there are many timeless topics presented in the movie, quite popular in Sci-Fi genre: do machines have souls, what is life etc.The concept of the movie is quite simple, but it still managed to surprise even a seasoned Sci-Fi enthusiast with clever plot, good twists and deep vision of the future.I would recommend this movie to anyone wishing to see something similar to Animatrix or Ghost in the Shell.
