Reviews
Ketrivie It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
Bessie Smyth Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
Sabah Hensley This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
Anoushka Slater While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
innsil There is a lot to enjoy in this film. A knowledge of film tropes, an enjoying the dynamics of friends making a film a key to the highest level of enjoyment. If you are not familiar with Red Letter Media, it may take a few viewings to let it grow on you. If you like trash films, like friendship or hate cops - this film will be for you!Easy light watching for a night you just want to have a glass of wine & clear your mind. Of special note is the performance of Mike Stoklasa as "past cop". it is easy to find oneself smiling whenever he is on screen. Patton Ozwald is always gr8, playing w/i the same frame for the film. With the right mood, set & setting: a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
raven-sirius I would have found this terrible even during the fart joke time of my life. There was nothing clever or funny about it, the story could have had potential, but it was treated so poorly I could not finish it. Yes I tried, I made it to past the hour mark and wanted to improve myself by playing in traffic. This is on the list of the 10 worst Sci-Fi and 10 Worst films I've ever seen. Save yourself the trauma and DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN WATCH THIS DRIVEL!
gaba gool This movie is good, but you have to already be into comedy to get it. This is like comedians humor, not someone who thinks the jokes in transformers are good's comedy. If you're not the right kind of person a lot of this will go over your head. The guy who was cryogenically frozen who they woke up definitely had some jokes that bothered me. He played up his schtick a bit too much. I don't know if thats just the writing or if he came up with those jokes, but a lot of them fell flat on their face. Some of them were pretty good, but definitely not all of them. Also i don't remember how it ended, but i remember being a bit disappointed. Starts of really good though. Lots of "future" jokes. They're killer, you just cant be looking for some comedy that involves someone falling in a lava pit or anything very simple. The jokes require more thought than your typical broad comedic bits, like things that play on trivializing violence, or belittling women. Which i can often appreciate, but are "low blows"- they're funny, but far from ingenious. Once again, if you're going to watch this movie, keep your expectations low for the unfrozen guy. If you're reading this, unfrozen guy, i apologize, if its any consolation you definitely did not single handedly ruin this movie. There's other problems with it too, and the biggest one is probably that the comedy isn't broad enough for the masses, and personally i appreciate that. Make stuff that you think is funny, not things that you think everyone will understand.
BartSamson It's hard to qualify a movie like Space Cop. I don't think it can be fully appreciated if you don't know the Red Letter Media guys, and if you are not familiar with their shows "Best of the Worst" and "Half in the Bag". The movie is self-referential from start to finish, with lots of nods specially to "Best of the Worst" episodes from the opening credits to the ***SPOILER*** Len Kabasinski cameo and stunt doubling. The "Samurai Cop" references also had me in stitches! All in all, I wouldn't say the story kept me riveted, nor the gags had me rolling on the floor, but it was a very funny movie for me, as a fan of Rich Evans and Mike Stoklasa's overacting. It's like having your (talented) friends making a movie. You can see all the work and efforts that went into it (specially if you listen to the commentary track), you're already won to their brand of humor and the end result is very endearing. If you are not fans of Mike, Rich, Jay, Jack and all the gang, better skip it. You won't get the joke.
