Wonderful character development!

Brilliant and touching

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Myron Clemons
A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

If you don't like love and romance, simply don't watch the Hallmark channel movies. It's sad that some of those out there are so unhappy with their own lives, they have to be haters.

I have ploughed through countless Hallmark movies, I like the format and can tolerate the lower production values, repetition of themes and sheer cheesy unlikeliness of the uber romancing that typically goes on.The ludicrous storyline was fine by me - good ol' romantic escapism with a royal theme that Hallmark are peddling hard this year - in connection to the British Royal Wedding maybe? However I gave up after two attempts to watch, for me it IS that bad! The father character is unredeemingly curmudgeonly and I found him one-dimensional and flat. Just unlikeable. The romantic interest was good looking but a terrible actor; I think this might have been the true problem. If we'd had an Andrew Walker or Troy Donovan it might have been saved. The main character was plucky, charismatic and very watchable and a shame she was left to carry this mess. A missed opportunity by Hallmark unfortunately.

Yes, the storyline has been done before but who cares? James Brolin was entertaining as a grumpy cattle rancher. Alex the stable handler was easy on the eyes and ears. If you like Hallmark movies, you'll enjoy this. So many negative reviews but I'm guessing they are not Hallmark fans. Give this movie a try. You just might like it.

Bad enough it follows the insipid Hallmark formula about castles and kings- rich boyfriend is a heel, poor boyfriend is a jewel, down home folk showing taking over the castle and saving the day. Then throw in a good ol' boy cowboy (who wears his battered hat at all times which a real cowboy knows is not correct) who single-handed saves the independence of a whole country and saves his daughters happiness as well. Throw in dogs and horses and ponies and you've seen it all already. I'd give it a one except for the scenery.
