Guitarist Ko-chan is a mess of sexual repression after a childhood at the mercy of two elder sisters eager to use him as a guinea pig for their make-up skills. Bassist Gaku-chan keeps a bucket in the wings for whenever his nerves get the better of him, and drummer Momo-chan is doomed to forever carrying the botched childhood attempts at self-tattooing. It's not until this foursome is forced to look for an additional guitar player after Jin's dad burns his Stratocaster, that attitude and musical ability enter into the equation. Leather-clad, shade-wearing Tani (Tamaki), inseparable from his black Les Paul, is introduced as the king of R'n'R cool and Jinnai keeps him firmly seated on his throne throughout the film, retroactively proclaiming the guitarist, rather than himself, as the band's true hero.

Reviews
Diagonaldi Very well executed
Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Joanna Mccarty Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
Bluebell Alcock Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
ninjaalexs Rokkazu (or Rockers to give it it's English title) is a comedy drama based on real-life Japanese rock band: Rockers. The film is a fictional account with some of the details changed. Perhaps the fiction is more interesting than the reality. The film follows the band playing gigs in various venues before they make it big. The film also looks at the relationship between the band members.Rockers was a surprise. I expected it to be a mediocre comedy at best; filled with toilet humour but what the film delivered was much better. Good acting throughout albeit over-the-top but, it works. Nicely edited and filmed especially the performance footage. The comedy in the film is also funny and I found myself laughing more than a few times (which is rare). It also references many rock idols such as Jimi Hendrix and Keith Richards which adds to the fun. Comedy aside there are also some quite touching moments which adds balance.Overall: A fine film. The comedy is actually funny with enough drama to keep it balanced and interested. Fun and entertaining throughout. Even the music is good. Well worth seeking out a copy.
bloodsugardiramagik ....after getting over-saturated with "good" movies that are made unnecessarily complex to get critical attention, I checked this movie and I was very amused in its simpleness. Oh yes, it seems to lack a good script and the first viewing just gave me a goofy comedy. A second viewing still gave me a goofy comedy but I noticed moments of brilliance and meaning in the movie then. I'm sure I'm going to give this a watch again because I love nonsensical movies that do nothing but have a good time. And a good time is what all simple people need except for snobbish types. Incidentally, this is the type of movie I don't want to admit I liked......because I want to look like an intelligent gentleman which I am definitely not, neither is two/third the people commenting here on IMDb. It starts slow.....grooves slowly, goofing around.......has some moments of excitement......but it stays a very laid-back comedy....all the characters had something special. MUSICALLY = GREAT. I'm looking for the OST. ...this will be a movie I will say I don't like but which I will always really like... If you don't wanna watch it, don't. Its none of my concern. Have a good life and die!!
