The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

Never known, this movie was a really surprise... I found this film in DVD in a small shop in Prague. Very hard to believe, how it was made this wonderful show with very modern technique, , completely shot as an old American movie of the 50's, technicallly perfect, also very dramatic and sad, script written with humour but also with sad feelings of that age. Plot also resumes very well what happened in the republic when the russians entered and also it starts very happy it finishes depressingly. Musical numbers are super, specially the one in the fair. It resumes perfectly OK the changue from happy years in Prague to the devastating after the Russian came. The girls and boys are extremely good actors and cakes. Just find this movie...also sound and photography are super!!!

Fantastic, energetic, amusing, smile inducing a true delight. Pretty girls, bright pastels, great singing, and great pacing make this a must see. Especially charming is are the familiar American 60's songs, Downtown and My Boy Bob now re-recorded in Czech. There couldn't be anyone who watches this movie and not come out with nothing but good vibes, Zuzana who portrays Tereza is a 10! Such beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Watching 'Rebelove' was time well spent. The film captures the mood of the era (late 1960s) with a mix of song and humour. The ending will make an impact upon you which will stay with you for a while and get you thinking about the human costs when political entities flex their muscles. 'Rebelove' is a classic of the future, for many Czechs this film will transport them to the defining moment of their history. For the younger generation it will be the 'Grease', 'Breakfast Club', or 'Saturday Night Fever' they will cling to in their adulthood.

When I saw the trailer, I thought that this could be another syrupy retro-comedy situated in the 60s, which is currently the most popular sort of movies in the Czech rep. But when I borrowed the VHS-tape, I found out, that in fact Rebelové (or "Rebe-Love") is fairly fun and smart-written film, containing great music; I gave it 7 out of 10 stars.
