Harockerce What a beautiful movie!
Teringer An Exercise In Nonsense
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Stephanie There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Nandana N The movie starts with George (Nivin Pauly) doing a very simple teenage thing- pursuing a girl. He's heavily infatuated, madly committed and egged on by friends, makes for quite a delightful start. The movie glides on with the same realistic tone throughout. George along with his friends Shambu and Koya make a wonderful trio, brimming with easy humour. I, for one, immensely enjoyed their friendship.Kerala's picturesque locales, rains and soulful background music elevate the mood of the scenes beautifully. Cinematography was at its best with subdued colours and wonderful play of light, almost made me feel like I was watching a Mani Ratnam movie. Music composition (both songs and the background score) was perfect in amplifying George's emotions. This coming-of-age film makes us revisit our idea of love from puberty and how it has transformed over the years. We have all been there. We know how it is like. The joy is in sitting through this beautiful ride. Everyone does their job perfectly in this movie, but the director Alphonse Putharen is definitely a true star.
rohikrishna Alphonse Puthren's second movie 'Premam' is a nice entertainer from beginning to end. The story moves as George's life changes. The perfection in technical side of the production is wonderful. To create a life like experience movie has multiple tracks almost all the time to give us a sense of reality & the cinematography is incredible with color grading/correction and the flow in the story took the cinema to where 'Premam' became the second highest grosser of Malayalam film industry after Mohanlal's 'drishyam'. Apart from direction and script; Alphonse Puthren handled the editing and stunts of the movie. All the cast was opt for the role. The songs and BGM composed by Rajesh Murugesan blend perfectly with lyrics by Shabareesh Varma. This is another excellent production from Malayalam film industry. Cheers
Amborish Nath I neither understand Malayalam nor Tamil still with help of subtitles and the raw acting made me really emotional.Every guy can relate to George's love life.Everyone got their heart broken at some point of their life. The more you get older the more it hurts and the more you suppress it within yourself which slowly turns you into a machine than a human. Nivin Pauly's acting was mesmerizing,he just nailed it. The college rivalry and how after passing out it only turns into friendship and you just forget all the anger and hatred and just sit down, get drunk/high and remember those good old days. How you friends run up to you and give a shoulder to cry when your feelings are crushed. Those land-line phones, giving missed calls to girls you had a crush on. Malar and George chapter was to me the most painful/hard-hitting part of this movie. Kudos to Anwar Rasheed for producing this gem and its director.
hemanthxxx I have to say i am well impressed with the direction. It captured the real sense we(i) want to experience in collage.it got enough fights , romance(as expected from the title), family matter, youngster stuff, LIFE.I have to say that i enjoyed only two or three Malayalam movies in recent past but now there is one more. Nivin Pauly and malar ROCKED the screen.Even though the film experienced some unfortunate events like piracy then also it collected the top position in BoX Office (WiKi).ANYONE WHO HAVEN'T THE FILM SHOULD SEE THE MOVIE IN THE THEATER (GOOD ONE Of course)OR IT WILL BE YOUR LOSS. At least guys support the guys who make better films.
