Reviews
LastingAware The greatest movie ever!
Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
Asad Almond A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
Brenda The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Funasian2005 Pitch Perfect 2 what a load of crap. I can't understand how this movie get a franchise, a third movie is coming out soon. The first pitch perfect was terrible, this second part is almost as bad. Rebel Wilson is NOT funny. Anna Kendrick is lost in this movie. Hailey Steinfield is injected for some blood but couldn't save the show.2/10 cos it's just a little better than the first one and that is an awful 1/10.
toot toot The sequel disappointed and missed the reason why the first one was so likable. I loved the first one! It was a refreshing musical (sort of) comedy with great characters, an interesting plot and an easy flow. The problem I have with the sequel is that it tried so hard to focus on every character and how they had developed over their college years, AND include new characters which fell flat (Hailee Steinfeld aka Emily). For one, Beca's story arc was that she was planning her future and that didn't exactly involve singing acapella for the rest of her life (unlike Brittany Snow aka Chloe). This really clashed with the main conflict of the film - redeeming their title and winning the main contest. If The main character feels indifferent to the main goal and the actions needed to be taken to achieve that goal, then the audience doesn't have much to root for and look forward to. Yes, Beca didn't like acapella in the first film as well, at First! But as the story progressed, so did her interest in acapella, her character development (from being judgmental towards the girls to becoming caring and loving, and the relationship with Jesse. The sequel just shows that it has become more of a habit than an actual pleasure, and Jesse is almost no where to be found! While we're on the main character, please just stick to the one instead of showcasing the life and struggles of every other. For example, it was unnecessary to follow Emily and her mom, as well as the relationship between Fat Amy and Bumper. Had they'd been toned down or just mentioned instead of showed for a lengthy few minutes it would've been far better. In spite all criticism, I do have to say that it was genuinely funny. The comedic part of this film did not disappoint whatsoever. Das Sound Machine were also interesting to watch, so props to that too.All in all, I believe this movie cannot compare to its prequel and I'm not sure what to expect from the third to follow, but I don't think I'll be buying a ticket to the cinema.
dboyd7022001 This doofuspoofus should be ignored strictly because of the name (seeing as it's more gay than Harry Potter!) This movie might not be as good as the first (nothing ever is) but it was sure close! It contains new and old songs so it's got something for all ages! I love the fact that they compete against all different groups in the riff-off because it shows that you don't have to be a certain age/race/strictly into music to have a good voice. Not sure if there are pillow fights in college but it did show they still knew how to have fun when they are NOT singing. Probably the most annoying part of the movie is the back and forth of Bumper and "Fat Amy" because it was overdone. My favorite part was the end performance when all the Bella alums came out and the part (as shown in the previews) where "Fat Patricia/Amy" slides down the stairs! Also, you have to love all the guest stars and cameos! For this to have an overall rating below all the Harry Potter movies is absurd! If you rate this movie anything below a 7, you have a bad taste in movies.
mwcrunner This a pretty good and funny movie here. It also makes a good tribute to a lot of really good songs. This is kind of like the movie version of Glee here. One funny part of this is that at the beginning of this when those singing group of girls perform in front of a huge audience including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama and this fat girl is on this sash from the ceiling and she almost falls off the sash and her skirt is pulled down and her hole is revealed to the president and first lady and they did not like the look of it. lol. This movie also has a funny part where those girls and other singing groups are in a competition hosted by David Cross. Also for some reason the Green Bay Packers are in the competition too. lol. All those guys can think about though is football. lol. At the very end the girls go up against this singing German group and they win and become champions. Funny and clever singing movie here.
