Mihai Toma After losing his beloved to a group of fierce pirates, Will the blacksmith teams up with a notorious pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow, for an attempt of rescuing her. Unknown facts will come to life and soon both will find out that there's more to each other than they would have imagined. It's an adventure full of action, suspense but also laughter, which introduces the now famous Jack Sparrow and his pirate deeds, especially regarding the young blacksmith. Their journey will prove to be full of unpredictable, for better or worse, but it will always be accompanied by tons of jokes, puns and funny moments. It features a couple of great and well described characters which do a really good job in maintaining a very enjoyable tale set at sea. Together with a good plot, they end up making a pretty impressive movie. Add into the equation a couple of great actors and some great special effects and you end up with this great achievement. What I enjoyed mostly about this film, besides its catchy atmosphere, is its comical side. It manages to be very good, in moments when you least expect it, without seeming to forced or desperate about it. It kept me interested till the end, especially due to its lack of predictability, thus it managed to be a very good movie. I have to note that I wasn't impressed by the plot. Although good, it wasn't something that will blow your mind or something. A little bit of polish could have made this one a true masterpiece.
adonis98-743-186503 Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate "Captain" Jack Sparrow to save his love, the governor's daughter, from Jack's former pirate allies, who are now undead. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl boasts one of Johnny Depp's best perfomances but also a terrific blend of comedy, action and special effects and makes Pirates just cool also Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa is perhaps his best perfomance ever and Keira and Orlando have a very good chemistry together as a whole. Definitely a great and fun adventure. (10/10)
zachgrant This is without a doubt my second favorite film ever made. Johnny Depp as Jack is great. Rush as Barbosa is great. The 2 main characters, Elizabeth and Will, are great. The soundtrack is phenomenal. The story is expertly told. What else can I say, IT'S PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. The villains are both sympathetic and cruel, and Barbosa's death is so well handled. He got exactly what he wanted throughout the film, and that's what got him. And Jack's face during that scene perfectly shows the years of torment he had to go through to get what was his back. All in all, go watch this film. It is by far one of the best action film ever made. Yo Ho, a pirate's life for me.
joshfedderson Disney made a truly amazing story when they came out with the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, I remember going to the theater and watching it for the first time with my parents and loving it. Now I am a true pirates fan and love the series. It was our first introduction to the famous pirate Captain Jack Sparrow and his behavior. It also introduced Will and Elizabeth the two iconic lovers in the series. The story is about a young man who falls in love with a young woman and their paths cross with swashbuckling pirates. The story was good about the cursed ship and it's crew and the cursed treasure. This beautiful story has brought on four other movies and has a great legacy. Nothing can beat the original Pirates of the Caribbean. I am watching all of them right up to the new fifth installment. The Pirates life for me.10/10 for Disney's first Pirates.
