Christmas-Reviewer BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS & REVIEWERS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW TO THEIR NAME. NOW WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THAT TELLS ME THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE MOVIE. IF ITS A NEGATIVE REVIEW THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST THE FILM . NOW I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 200 HOLIDAY FILMS. I HAVE NO AGENDA.The plot involves two strangers, a construction contractor (Garner) and a medical doctor (Andrews), who take refuge in a small abandoned cabin during a stormy winter night and, despite their many differences, they become undeniably drawn to one another. This was Garner's and Andrews' third film pairing as romantic leads, after The Americanization of Emily (1964) and Victor Victoria (1982).This is a nice little film. It holds your attention . Long time friends James Garner and Julie Andrews really do have great chemistry together. It seems to me however there were little winks to the audience to Julie's & Jim's past roles. I won't give them away but see if you could spot them.

lisafordeay One Special Night tells the tale of two lonely people one who's wife suffers from Dementia,while the other her husband passed away a few years back meet up at a nursing home as Robert(James Garner)was visiting his wife,while Catherine(Julie Andrews) a doctor was just popping into the nursing home to see the patients. Of course with a snow storm lurking upon them the two end up getting stuck in the snow storm and find an abandoned cabin where they stay there till the storm goes down as Catherine offered a lift for Robert to take him home. With the two stuck in a cabin even though their persona's differ will romance blossom between them and will they ever get together?Overall this was a really nice sweet love story between two old people who fall in love as they are both lonely with their companies not with them anymore. Julie Andrews is well in my opinion one of my favourite English actresses of all time. I have seen her in a lot of films ranging from Mary Poppins to The Sound Of Music. James Garner was also very good too as the lonely contractor Robert who strikes up with Catherine(Julie Andrews).Yes the story reminds me of The Notebook with a hint of Sleepless in Seattle with the whole faith thing as in the beginning of the film we meet Catherine and she doesn't see Robert twice,until she met him at the nursing home.If you want to watch it be sure you catch it on TV whenever its on. My rating is 8/10Very Good

Armand its fundamental virtue is to be more than a Christmas movie. because it is a clear, well-made, beautiful and honest story. a film with a great cast, inspired script, wise director, not complicated but lovely for the grace to explore delicate problems in a smart manner. a film about past, future and an accident. its heart - the perfect chemistry of an artistic couple who seduce again and again. it could be an old fashion film but it is little more. a touching exploration of the essence of life , about joy and the metamorphose behind it. a Christmas movie. but far by genre because the memories are not about the spirit of a holiday in commercial sense but about a high great performances example.

julikell Julie Andrews and James Garner -- again! -- create a special magic with two stellar performances -- especially Andrews. I've always felt that Andrews's acting talents were greatly underappreciated and have been overshadowed by her musical greatness. She is one special actress -- I fell in love with her 35 years ago in "Mary Poppins," and my admiration for her continues to this day.I only wish this movie was a one-hour episode, and that it dispensed with the whole dysfunctional family sub-plot. It was tiresome and predictable. The only reason I did not use my fast-forward on my VCR is because I didn't want to miss one second of Garner and Andrews.
