Nanban Trailers

The plot of the film illustrates the embankment of two friends on a quest for a lost buddy, who was once an optimistic and successful student. On their journey, they recount their college life and special moments that the three shared up until their lost friend secretly parted ways after convocation. During their quest, the two encounter a rival classmate who once made a long forgotten bet with them, a funeral that goes impossibly out of control, and a wedding they must crash.

Chatverock Takes itself way too seriously
SunnyHello Nice effects though.
Acensbart Excellent but underrated film
Walter Sloane Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
Sunil Monick Remake of course. But has it lost its charm made by Rajkumar Hirani? definitely no. One of the praised directors S.Shankar has made sure that it doesn't go for a compromise in anyway. Since a comparison cannot be made on people of both the industries, its just a overall view. The film was exceptional. Screenplay, music and the most important the script where human values are mainly highlighted. When its Vijay and Harris combo,Songs are offcourse trendsetters and chartbusters. Excellent album and the best of both Vijay and HJ. Was surprised to see a mass hero performing such a soft character in his own style which is very well enough to convince critics and the audience. And the movie shows. Shankar has done a pretty job adding a little more colour for his star value. So am sure Nanban is another worth movie to watch.
Avi G3 NANBAN - A Tamil remake of the Hindi version called "3 IDIOTS", which by itself was inspired by Chetan Bhagat's novel, "FIVE POINT SOMEONE". The Hindi version was brilliant. It made me laugh, cry, enjoy and think... So I was wondering if the Tamil version would have the same effect on me. But director Shankar made it entirely possible with his expertise. Ilayathalapathy Vijay plays the lead role. Well, it is definitely a huge change for him from his regular action movies. And yes, he does a splendid job, retaining the original essence in a few areas, while showcasing his originality in others. He excels in every aspect of the movie. He makes everyone believe that he is a college student ( with his well-toned physique). His transition to "Kosaksi Pasapugazh" is very smooth and enjoyable. Jiiva supports Vijay in every way possible. He makes us laugh and cry without any problems. Srikant, on the other hand, was a bit sloppy in the initial few sequences, but later adjusted to the genre. Ileana, the lead actress, looks very fragile and thin. Other than that, she gracefully sweeps across the film. Sathyan and Sathyaraj are added bonuses. Harris Jayaraj creates waves with his music. The Tamil version of "Aal Izz Well" is in many ways, even better than the Hindi version. "Aska Laska" brings out the genius in Madan Karky, the lyricist. BGM is also soulful and interceding. Kudos to the cinematographer, the editor and the sound engineers. Director Shankar has done a great job with the movie, not destroying the original Hindi flavor. This is his first remake (All others have been his own scripts). Hats off, Mr.Shankar! On the whole, "NANBAN" is one of those movies you should never miss, if you are a fan of Indian Cinema. You 'll not be disappointed with "NANBAN" even if you have watched and loved "3 IDIOTS"! I strongly recommend this flick!
Kumaran Perumal Excellent and inspiring plot with very positive messages and many hilarious scenes. Inspiring messages and witty lines are dotted throughout the movie, intertwined with some teary scenes: all is well if you follow your passion; chase excellence and success will follow; be brave and follow your dream; think outside the box and be flexible. It challenges our current values on education and success – that we should learn for the sake of learning but not for grades or what others want us to do. What's the point if you memorize everything but do not understand what it means and do not know how to put what you have learned into application? What an inspiring movie. It challenges your comfort thinking mode and urge you to be yourself and chase your dream/passion. Excellent acting, colorful and typical Kollywood musical scenes with uplifting songs and dance moves, not to mention the soothing natural scenery interspersed in the moving episodes of friendship, love, family and playful/stressful campus life. Every student, teacher, and parent or anyone who cares about our future should see it. What kind of world do we want to live in? What kind of person do we want our next generation to be? What kind of lives do we want to lead? This movie makes us ponder on these. Somehow the movie echoed Steve Job's quotes : "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma—which is living with the results of other people's thinking." "Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart." Both Steve and the Pari character (VIJAY) are smart and creative, nice and helpful to friends and people who are willing to learn. They are true to their feelings. They dare to challenge authority and encourages others to do the same. We need more people like these in this world. Just go see it. You won't regret it.

SHANKAR and rajkumar hirani script is simply superb. Through Humor how many rights and wrongs are said. I really loved the way Shankar showed Jivaa's family. A typical1950's family, it's hilarious as well as genius. The film has Superb Performances: Vijay is fantastic as Panjavan Parivendan aka Kosaksi Pasapugol. He's a delight every time he appears on screen and delivers his careers finest work.Srikanth excels,he's astounding in the sequence when he shares his heart with his father. Jivaa is good, yet again. Sathyan is a Masterstroke. A surprise packet, his speech sequence is sure to be remembered forever! Ileana is weak.Sathyaraj is mind-blowing as the vicious head. He leaves you speechless in the scene when he awards Vijay the Pen.Anuya is average. The Music is decent, with 'All Izz Well' and 'Asku Laska' being a complete chart-buster. The cinematography is brilliant while background score is amazing. All other departments are satisfactory. Watch this film right now...
