Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.

It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

Your blood may run cold, but you now find yourself pinioned to the story.

A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."

"Last Life in the Universe" part from a preamble that conditions us to understand death as a born hero in our lives. Latent, in a slow and flexible dynamic, that although is disproportionate by one another mistake in his screenplay, this film takes us through the life of a young man willing to take the deadly phenomenon as protagonist also of its existence. The portrait, which meditates on the oppressed and unjustified that has become the image of death in the collective psychological, demonstrates the inconsistency of a routine based on the pursuit of hope as the only remedy against this evil and, based on curious pillars , credited to the identification of subliminal aspects of existence in a, not so vague, psychological individually.Time becomes insufferable for settling the folly of death when intentionally seeks it, the absurd a subordinate who demonstrates the little relevance of a life to the continued well-being of everyday life, and a "truncated life" ends up being simply a witnessed deplorable existential coincidences, expressed through this person as a filter.

The lives of a crazy Japanese man and an equally irresponsible Thai woman. This is not a common theme of many Asian films. But what is really good about Thai director Pen-ek Ratanaruang's film "Last Life In The Universe" is that he shows us some of the most precious moments of life when two wacky people meet and get to like each other despite all their differences.Quietness is one of the key aspects of this film. The entire film is shot as a quiet story where two losers attempt to make sense of their lives. This is the biggest reason why there is no unnecessary sound. The role of Thai girl is played by charming Sinitta Boonyasak. She does ample justice to her role of a wacky Thai girl by using all the tricks in her bag to make sense of her life and also that of her Japanese boyfriend. This film is a major star vehicle for famous Japanese actor Asano Tadanobu who plays his role of a lost librarian with utmost care.He is one of the few Asian actors capable of giving subdued performances which are on par with some of the best acting performances in the world.I saw this film at Osian Cinefan Film Festival of Asian cinema at New Delhi.

I am a fan of European and Asian films. I taped this movie on my video to enjoy it during my day off. I was excited and maybe expecting a lot out of it. But, it turn out to be 2 hours of dullness. It starts and the expectations are high. It gives you a pick when the main character experience a murder in his on house and makes another one tho save his life. This is the part where I was expecting the character to change dramatically. The plot up to that point is great, but then the character can not remain the same and start a "love" story! The character should have start feeling things like guilt maybe or whatever to change his view of things, his philosophy of the world, his ego and so on.The movie had great potential and manage to spoil it by showing us the last "love" in the universe. Even this could have been done in a better way. How the hell someone murder and then goes on with his life and get happy because he gets a new "old car" and on and on...Unfortunately the movie is 3 out of 10 And my afternoon was destroyed...

This lovely movie is about two people who fancy one another, albeit they do not explicitly express their feelings. Viewers, though, can tell that there is something going on between the two protagonists, judging from the way they interact with each other.Kenji and Noi, by chance, came across each other. In characteristic terms, there was a world of difference between these two; Kenji was such a neat and tidy person, Noi, in contrast, was happy-go-lucky and dishevelled.Last life in the universe was directed by Pen-ek Ratanaruang, a talented Thai director, who is now considered to be one of the most promising directors in Asia. With the help of a well-known cinematographer like Christopher Doyle, the picture of this film was as beauteous as it gets.Asano Tadanobu, a versatile Japanese actor, played Kenji, a suicidal librarian working in a Japanese culture centre in Bangkok. He, as luck would have it, met Noi, played by Sinitta Boomyasak, a young pretty bar girl, who happened to lose her sister in an accident.Their quirky relationship began to shape up during their time together. It was pleasantly cute to see these two clashing characters trying to talk to one another in broken English. This, however, made the context look real, like watching an actual couple who truly care for each other. The music accompanying the film provided the feeling of calm and loneliness, as though you were the last lizard in the astronomical, empty universe. In every sense, this is an endearing film. You could drift off easily if you are not into a slow paced movie. Given that, I am sure you will have a blessed dream.
